Should I learn how to script/program Opengl?

Hey I would like to ask if it would be worth it for me to learn how to program/script Opengl bots/scripts I always planned on learning a computer language as it might prove to be handy in real life. Other then programing rs bots/scripts would it prove to be handy in other things and would it be worth it to learn it? I plan on buying a book to begin learning it . Would I be able to script something and make a succesfull bot? and how long would it take to make the script?

 

Triez from tribot is allready doing this he is doing very well, got to tribot forums and look at pictures in the shout box to see his progress.

 

I think this is a great idea, i want to learn a programming language too. Im not sure which one tho. I want to learn to code rsps, anyone know what language that is?

And as for you OP, good luck, it won't happen. The best and brightest are busting their asses as we speak trying to learn GL interception. If you're just a beginner, you won't get there until you master C++ or Java which takes most people years.

 

^He is exactly right.

OpenGL is an API, not a standalone programming language. You will need to have a solid background in another programming language in order to make use of OpenGL's functionality.

I always love how many people think that programming is that easy.
Just as Blupig and the others said, it would take you years.. and alot of failing.. before you'd be good enough for it

On the otherhand, you could learn to make small 'fun' apps fairly fast!

 

This right here; people are working their asses off trying to figure this out. You can give it a shot, heck -- anything you learn is good right?
