I tend to trust large donor's more then anything.

Number of vouches can be discreetly hidden in small trades.

Post count doens't mean much unless the user has been seen and recognized a lot with quality posts.

But if it's between who's on the site longer, or who has the most vouches (20-40 lets say), and both users have 500 posts, i'll trust the one with the vouches more for reasons video mentioned.

I think you really need to be smart about things like this. Early join date is meaningless, someone could join and then come back years later without having built any reputation.

More vouches is more important, but even then you have to be careful. Look at them carefully, how do you know they aren't just alt accounts of the person being vouched for? Are they all from sellers or buyers, is there a good mix?

You really have to look at the whole picture. Your never 100% safe from being scammed unfortunately, but you can be smart to lessen your odds of being scammed.

The thing with join date that I believe is that most of the old joiners -08 are usually banned. Also with vouches, can they really suffice to anything if they're all from one person going first all the time?

Should vouches be valid if that said person went first 100% of the time and no one else trusted him?

    Didn't a 500$ donor scam recently?

The quality of vouches is what I mostly look at now. The one time I was scammed on Sythe was by someone with a decent amount of vouches (30+), but those vouches didnt have the quality than say, a Nano-like member.

For me, the only reason to look at join date is that the people who have been on the site longer are generally older and generally more mature.

I've been surprised by a few trades where people offered to go first purely based on my '05 join date.

When choosing between these two factors I'd say vouches, as they proof the legit trades they have made.
Join date doesn't mean anything, it's like putting meat in a fridge and eating it after three days, whats the difference? Nuffin'.

Put it this way, if a guy name "Player A" had 50 vouches from gold buying or selling, and "Player B" has 2k post count, 2008 join date, and 20 vouches, I would trust Player B more, think about it, Player A has made money and done trades he needs or wants, there is a lot of opportunists like N4n0 and Govind's stunt found, I, like N4n0, look at all aspects, popularity, vouches, etc etc, join date mean's jack all, they could have registered in 2007 and not been active until February 2011 where free trade has been introduced, like what Snow Patrol done.

Also, I tend to read peoples speech, grammar and text over MSN and Skype, if there too nice, I find it sketchy at the least, if they're using no grammar and words like "yh bro thts well kl" then I think they're young, and not socially nor marketly intelligent, then I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them, large donators I tend to trust due to the shear fact, like Arcus, he won't scam anything under $3k at the bare minimum, not saying he would scam higher, but I would take more precautions, like Nick as MM, or N4n0 or another really trusted guy, he has donated $1k, which makes it $2k, he makes fuck loads per sale etc, ruining his online job if you can call it that, and his vouches, popularity and future on the site would be flushed down the toilet, sorry Arcus for using you as an example, but you fitted it :).

I've gone to trade with someone with 200+ vouches but I've backed out of the trade because of the way they talk, generally a nasty tone, which made me not trust them.

Vouches > Join date. However it's mostly decided on behavior, in my opinion. It's pretty easy to spot a scammer via shady behaviors.

Vouches Mostly, Quality and Quantity, depending on how much the order was and if the other person went first, if they're been trusted with a lot with a lot of vouches, then that's my ideal guy, but if the person was also a 05 member who's active, then yeah i don't think i'd haft to worry as much :3

well like the most of the people here have said i think that it does not matter about vouches and join date but how good of a person you are and how well you trade and what people think of you. basically if you are not a scammer and post good and help then people will trust you, and do trades from quests and stuff. etc etc.

It all counts really, it's sort of like an equation months joined * vouches.

Here's one thing I know for certain; join date means shit.

As n4n0 already stated, all accumulated factors need to be taken into consideration, as we've seen in the past even people who are high level donators and/or have excessive amount of vouches have denoted to scamming..

I mainly trust somebody on how much I've spoken to them, how fishy they are and tbh join date.. I wouldnt exactly just go first to somebody with a 2005 join date, but if I've spoken to them and stuff then I would probably go first.
