n4n0's MSN HAS BEEN HACKED! Paying back those who got scammed.

Remember we can still tell if you make new account claiming you were scammed.

 

hey n4n0 i pmed u a couple times askin to MM and you never responded so i just went ahead and added [email protected] and made a 400m sale and got scammed. not going to beg for it back its virtual items but just postin to let ya know, good luck getting back!

 

Hmm, would you say what I did would be considered bad? I posted *some* proof, but not a lot. Should I delete my post of the 350m scam?

n4n0 I'm so sorry to hear about all this man. I just read through this entire thread and all the scam claims. I think they should all be investigated very thoroughly, just to weed out anybody who might be plannin on hatching some elaborate, well-covered scam attempt (possibly even the impostor himself).

I just wish there was something I could do to help. If I was some rich, bulk gold buyer/seller, or if I had even a cent in my name in real life, I would honestly try and do something to help you. Donate RSGP, real cash, whatever it takes. But unfortunately I am truthfully broke as fuck in real life lol, and my character only has a net worth of about 150M in items. I would still be more than willing to donate a large chunk of that if you do in fact need the help!

n4n0 is such a well known, respected member of this amazing community, and if he needs help here everybody should try and do their part to help him out. I don't know what his situation is (he is probably loaded to the tits), but surely we can all even donate small amounts of RSGP, items, cash, whatever it takes so that we can ensure everybody gets paid back once his MSN is secured. Not to hurt your pride n4n0, just to me that is SO much money, and I would be completely overwhelmed and stressed if this happened to me.

This just sucks so fucking much. It's unbelievable...

I was under the impression from a while back, through previous MSN hackings, that a full re-imbursement was never made if a PM wasn't requested?
It could have simply been a discussion, but I recall something being said in the staff lounge back when I was a Global Moderator. A partial refund was to be given I think, but not in full.
I don't mean to be a downer on the situation or anything - maybe another staff member can help refresh my memory.

 

It was an idea passed by Sythe to the public a while back, I remember Spyike was on staff at the time.

He mentioned a new clause to essentially force people to trade safe by requesting a PM, whereas if you requested a PM, you got a full reimbursement, but if you didn't, you only got 50% or nothing. This was never instated and that was the last I heard of it.

 

Also, I remember there being discussion on refunds AFTER an announcement has been made warning all members - possibly the same rule applying to those who didn't request PM's.
This is all just hazy at the moment though.... don't take anything I say for the truth.

 

N4n0 is making the decision to pay people back of his own free will, regardless of what the rules are. Don't quite recall whatr they are myself

 

That would be an absolutely unbelievably terrible rule as it would basically allow people like me to just scam a full amount, and then only reimburse a partial amount after realizing that the user did not ask for a PM and claiming an account hacking. His MSN, his fault. I know that's how it was when my MSN got hacked. Obviously I don't think n4n0 would do that but the point is any other rule or interpretation of that rule would do a disservice to Sythe's reputation as a whole.

N4N0 should only have to refund users who were scammed before he made the announcement.

 

Really sorry to hear about this N4N0. Sad to see how people can be selfish and mean (Not to use offensive expressions).

I agree with Viou, I guarantee some people are trying to get scammed now just so N4n0 can re-inburse them.

He should only have to reimburse people that were scammed ~1h after the announcement or earlier. (It takes time to see it )

His choice to pay people back is very admirable and I highly respect that, as he obviously does not have to.

But I disagree with a "cut-off" time period of who is eligible to be paid back & who isn't. Not everybody is going to necessarily see this, even if they are on Sythe. I was browsing for atleast half an hour before I noticed it lol.

 

wow just my luck he scammed my acc :/ it was only about 9 or 10M cause he took all of my d armour but luckily i have a pin set! and i finally recovered acc today and changed the recoveries back to their original state and stopped pin deletion and all that fun stuff...it really kinda sucks i feel bad for you cause this guy just got you in a bunch of shit...

I'm fairly sure it was Plznate's own ruling (he makes up his own rules) and it was disregarded; everybody is to pay back in full.
