Crash, Wtf is Going On?

Wtf is going on? Purples and yellows and both under 1b now? White is well below max cash. Masks, santas, and edibles have also dropped like 50% in less than two days?

 

Bots no more... They do alot for the rune economy

 

Removal of bots/dicing initiated the crash, but panic is what kept it going. People are insta-selling phats for fear of losing more which of course just drives them down further and is having a rebounding effect on the market.

 

I understand bots and dicers were removed, but this crash has just been devastating. Either the price of gold skyrockets from here, or things have to rebound...

 

Problem has been twofold. One, the bot update removes incoming wealth from the game. This wealth affected the economy by reducing prices of raw materials for skilling, which freed up gold to be spent elsewhere (Discontinued Items). Now that raw materials have become more expensive, they tie up more gold that would otherwise be spent on Rares.

The other factor, which I would argue is the main factor today, is Bank Resets. Bank Resets are becoming a major issue, as Jagex is wiping out GP / Shards from the economy at a ridiculous rate. Jagex has deleted 100's of Billions from Sythe members alone. And we are not even the hardest hit. The companies in China are the ones bleeding the worst, and it can be assumed that Jagex is deleting 10's to 100's of billions of GP from them on a WEEKLY BASIS. This has a huge impact on the economy, and throws the balance of GP < - > Rares off from its previous rate.

Assuming the bank resets do not change from their current state, I don't see Party Hats recovering.

What he said, I have seen half a dozen people get wiped for 100B. Without them investing in phats lol...its going to shit -- say hello to all phats under 500m.If jagex thinks this will fix inflation they are probably right, but we will end up with what we had in 2005. Those that survive the wipes, will have banks that can pretty much destroy the RS economy when this inflation is over lol.

They've recovered somewhat, but I feel this recovery is only temporary. Reds went from 1800 to 1200 and now they are 1550. Whites went from 2700 to 1750 to max cash. You get the idea.

I feel that another crash will come however, I'm guessing once Christmas Break hits.
