What Runescape does to your math skills...

*sigh* things like this make me worry about the World's youth.

The sad thing is...only one other person caught her mistake on the thread and some people even used her numbers...

Oh and in case you can't do the math yourself, here is a post that may help. Although if you can't do it, I'd be a bit worried.

I had no idea how much a game last so i couldn't do the math myself, but yea , if you know the details and want to prove yourself to someone, make sure your statistics are correct.
BTW to contradict your title, being a mercher during my time of playing runescape i learned a lot of pretty damn useful skills in math, economics, etc.
ONLY positive outcome of playing this shit game for so long

Although, RS has helped hone my math skills due to merching and shit. Not a lot, more like kept them in check.

You think she would be able to figure out before she posted how horribly wrong her calculations were :laugh:

 

Runescape GE flipping/merchanting/manipulating actually taught me a lot about working with "%".
I aced every test on that subject.
It also taught me near perfect english, got a B+ on my exam.

Funny thing is though....my basic math skills have gotten better. For instance, buying sharks back in the day for 1k each made me learn my intervals of 1k and I can do them quicker than a cat on crack. Also, multiplying by 1.5x is you're staking or even when I used to merchant unids. I learned my 2.1ks and 2.5ks =D Don't tell me there hasn't been a repetitive task that you haven't become at beast at!
