Old memories would be things like...

no noteable items, other than a select few commodities that could be certed in Draynor.

holding your mouse down on your cash stack to add GP to a trade. The longer you held, the faster GP went. So you would often overshoot the amount you were offering by heaps, and would have to go back/start over again.

being able to duel anywhere, and basically using it as a free tele to Lumby

stealing Nats from the chest in Ardy, then selling them 500 ea

mining coal nonstop to buy R2H's 300k ea

all weapon speeds being the same

3-hit combat system: not being able to run away/leave combat until at least 3 rounds of combat have passed

when there were only a handful of servers, and when P2P was added there were hardly any of those servers <3

sending people messages via "tell"

[not as old] raising kittens into cats, then selling them to the people in West Ardy for Death Runes then selling the Death Runes 1k ea

 

Tehnoobshow, the skillers outfits, the armor trimming. Such great times haha, everything is so serious on RS now.

World 3 and 29 were the 'old school' days to be honest.

They were definitely the best.

Making me feel old if what you guys are saying is considered old school...heres something i posted a while ago:

Full black was 10k standard price. Remember it being such a ridiculous task to find a black battle axe or 2h.

I remember when I first killed Elvarg too, I remember having to keep wiping my palms on my jeans because it was so intense lol.

Castle pking was the shít. Pking those guys that always were picking up the chaos runes and using them to add to my pking gear Having to chase them back and forth up and down ladders was always a challenge to get to them before they logged.

Logging in and out for catch before you go pking Certing and uncerting your lobbies and swords before/after you pk. Suicide training on Jailguards in draynor, 3 iteming. Being able to walk from Lumb to varrock/edge was so set in your brain that you could do it blindfolded.

Low level pking was always extremely fun. I miss arching behind the fence with my xbow in varrock, and being careful not to go in when an actual melee'r was behind the fence too because you were only 10hp lol.

Making a wine pure, drinking wine then punching the bags in varrock to have a level 13 with r2h. Only 10hp though d: Deathmatches at altar, and chaos altar. r2h, strength ammy, str pot, and swordies.

When pking in style(ie monk robes, wizzy hat, gloves, iron chain) meant risking food spaces.

If you were a 1def pure, you always had to make sure that when you first logged in you had to not kill a low HP NPC because you were defaulted to "controlled" attack style giving you def exp. Making a super quick switch to strength/attack before you kill a monster was always the task at hand and should never have been forgotten.

Botting low level NPCs(cows, monks, chickens) were always the fastest EXP getters if you were a pure.

"How many levels pure are you?" meant how high in levels your HP was in comparison to combat. This meant pures couldn't raise magic, because it gave you a lot of combat levels. A pure always had rune chain, If I look on my old accounts I don't even have any rune plates just chains.

When the most expensive item in the game wasn't more than 200K.

heres an old few may not remeber/not sure if its still there, but the sapphire that used to spawn in the wilderness around level 30ish, i remb my classic days collecting those with like a 5 minute respawn hehe.

 

going to the dwarf mine, tricking people into using the disk of returning and then selling them the disk back lest their character be stuck forever.

 

i miss runescape classic the castle in wild 18 where all the pro pkers with runefull rune 2h or monk robes and people screaming autocatcher.

I remember trading a black (g) plate and legs for my first santa in 2004/2005 lol, it was 180k. Quickly flipped it for 250k, and there began my pre-g.e merchanting days which went well for a few months only to be scammed by a yew/willow switcher (they used to look the same)
