How has runescape damaged your life?

It caused me to go against my parents trust as a child, stealing credit cards (my value of money was very low), sneaking on. Endless hours. Addiction. Obsession.

 

Uhm, well... I was addicted to painkillers at one point, and all I wanted to do when I had them was play Halo and Runescape... so maybe they egged it on a little?

 

It's probably the reason for my anger management issues. However it's also taught me a bit about economics. It's caused me to yell at my parents and get into numerous fights with them. It's caused me to be pissed off at points and happy at others. At some point in the past I gained a lot of wait cause of my addiction but I started to work out and I look great now. It's done a lot, and a lot of bad.

 

It has damaged my life everyday at school.

Edit: As I get bullied about playing it.

 

It hasn't affected my attention to school much. It honestly hasn't done any damage as I was a kid then and I needed something to spend time playing. I did fight with my brothers on who will get on the computer to play though. Timing was a bit bad. Back then, we had 1 computer, now we have 3 computers. Would have been much better if we had 3 computers then. In overall, it hasn't done much damage to my life. It has done more good than bad.

 

I spend a good couple years playing when I was like 12 13 and 14. That really affected my social skills now. Then, when I was like 16 and 17, I would spend all day getting high and playing Runescape. I would play Runescape because nobody would really talk to me and it wouldn't be obvious that I was high. I don't even play anymore.

They shouldn't judge you based on a game you play, that is just stupid.

Sorry if this is spam as I have no other friends yeah might sound like I'm crying to sythe; But the sad thing that its true.

 

I wouldn't say Runescape has damaged my life in any way. The worst effect I think Runescape has had on my life though, is simply just all the wasted hours I have put into playing, grinding, and training. Mostly when I was younger though.

Over the last few months since I have been playing RS again for the first time since I was 15, it has actually been a good thing. It still takes up alot of time my time and could be considered a "waste" of time, but as long as I am not out doing drugs, then I would consider RS a good thing as it keeps me occupied which in turn helps me stay clean.

 

My total rs time played on my journal says 360 days and 15 hours. Now if that was focused onto something more productive.... But yea it made me get bad grades back in school for a while made me lazy and just wasted time tbh.

Yes I would say rs has damaged my life. I've wasted countless hours in game that could be done doing something productive. I'm 20 years old and i don't even know how to drive. I failed at uni cause all I wanted to do was play runescape. Still play runescape a bit but I'm starting to get my life back on track I've landed myself in a pretty decent job now I've just gotta work up the enthusiasm to study for my drivers licence.

 

Uh it killed my eyes because I used to play for hours.

 

Well It infected my way of school, but it was fun

 

it hasn't ruined my life at all....Runescape is like anything else, its up to you to moderate yourself...

 

When I was 14-15 (about 6 years ago) I stole people's cell phones to get pins, I skipped school to play, I got into fights with my parents about being on the computer so much.. Now that I'm 21 and look back on it - it's kind of funny how desperate I was for this game and how much I realize it wasn't worth the strain haha
