VPNs & Proxy

Note: Im very poorly informed about both of these but looking for abit of guidance.

People have recommended using VPN's & proxies to help RWT money safely, im looking for abit of help on how to go about this, whats best & what you guys use.

For something that simple you can use a free VPN. I'd recommend Hotspot Shield: https://www.hotspotshield.com/

The difference between proxies and VPNs is that a VPN will re-route all your traffic (depending on your settings, you can make it so that only a portion of your traffic is routed) through some third party node, so the traffic is "masked" as being from the VPN and not you. A proxy works in a similar way but is a lot more specific. You can send individual requests through a proxy and it will route/mask those individual requests, but all your other traffic behaves as normal. For example, if you were to use a web proxy (like ztunnel), your request to view "www.youtube.com" or whatever, that specific request to view youtube would be masked but all your other traffic would not. With a VPN, again, depending on your settings, all traffic is typically masked.

 

In terms of RuneScape, especially botting, people are really big on private proxies, and typically don't use VPN's much. The reason being that private proxies can be setup with userass authentication so only you have access. Whereas VPN's have a large IP pool that everyone who uses the VPN has access to.

Just gonna add this in pal You could use a vps, this masks your ip and mac address when on a private server. If you wanna do your rwting on this "vps" acct then it will help keep your main account reasonably safe. They vary in ram which I believe affects the game play but like a 2gb ram for rwting is usable.
