You'll all probably fail me miserably since I'm vastly different than every other human being in the world by like 100%!. yeah.

Anyways, so there's this chick I'm taking on a picnic in 3 weeks exactly. I need to know what to make, what to wear, etc. It's been... er... 2 years since I've been on a date? 2 1/2 maybe? I'm a little off of my game, maybe that's a good thing since it always failed horribly before.

I don't really know her, we just get along and so I pretty much told her I wanted to take her out and we landed on the idea of a picnic.

Uhm, WHAT DO!? I'm deacon fucking frost, I don't people :(.

Just wear whatever you'd usually wear. Don't dress up in a suit for a picnic! As for food, just take sandwiches, chips, cake etc. nothing too fancy, just snacks.

To this I agree, if you had the courage to ask her out on a friendly date. Then you can definitely go about and hang out with her on a picnic!

First bring some confidence, than the food won't matter. :)

Actually, do mind what you wear, don't make it too outrageous, not good for first impressions. Confidence is good, don't make it so you're cocky though. Don't pay for anything for her unless she asks.

Verts is right about dress. Don't wear anything special - for something as unassuming and casual as a picnic, she might find it weird if you try too hard. As for what to bring, it partly depends where you go; you'd bring different things to a beach than you would, say, a park. It also depends whether she's a vegetarian or not; if you're not sure, it's worth asking, since a lot of women are (or will pretend to be on a first date :p).

Finally, I personally think sandwiches might be a bit boring (and lol at you making any goddamn sammiches anyway), but just do what you're comfortable with.

I actually laughed at the thought of a guy bringing a suit to a picnic...lol, that needs to happen in a will ferrel flick.

But yeah deacon, just don't be too nervous and don't try too hard. Just wear some casual outgoing clothes and be yourself around her. It'll be natural for you to be a little nervous, but don't dwell on it too much because if you're anything like me it'll make it 100x worse.

Good luck, and I think you'll do fine.

Girls love it if a guy can cook or bake. Maybe you can make a mean lasaña. Ask her and find out if she likes any food that you can make well :D

Wear something casual, find out what the girl would like to eat and make it. Good luck on your date. :)

You know, it really coulden't hurt to ask her what types of food she likes haha ;)

If it's really a big deal you could ask to do something else that is more... Uhh... Straightforward instead? Tell her you're DEATHLY afraid of grass, and there's just no possibility of you being able to go somewhere for a picnic.

    These girls are so wrong.

Suit that shit up, tbh. I think, black pants, white shirt, black jacket, black tie, black top hat and some leather shoes, then roll up to her house with a rose. That's how you do it.

Switch the pants for jeans and you've got a man.

Suits are for every occasion, what's wrong with wearing one to a picnic?

    Trololololol = Ryan.

Whatever you do don't wear trainers, don't wear a peaked hat, don't wear shitty clothes (at least dress nice casual - not dressing UP, but good clothes nonetheless), brush your teeth, wear a nice cologne or deodorant....
just the small things - girls DO notice that.

I'll give u advice from a serial dater note I've never actually had a Girlfreind.

This gonna be ur first step, so you gotta make the first date count picnic isn't very 21'st century but w/e.

Wear something normal get a hair cut you obviously have facial hair get rid of that aswell. MOST important rule is don't lie that's if you wan't the relationship to last

Relationships ain't for me why waste time when you gonna have feeling for another girl in the near future?

Laughed at this, but this is probably the best advice so far.

    Bring your swag :p
    Compliment her plenty.
Keep the conversation hot, switch it up don't let it die and get quiet.
Keep the conversation more about her, make her feel important.
    Keep it fun and flirty.
Be the natural you and be a little stupid at times.

Like kmjt said, you're gonna need some danm confidence. Without that this dates gonna go down the sh*ts, but maybe she could be different.

As for the suit, that's funny.. What most people wear signifies their unique style and dignifies who they are. Suit wouldn't even be appropriate for a picnic. I know for sure my friends would beat me if i brought up that idea for a picnic.

ex: White undershirt/ Black polo / khaki shorts / white nikes.
ex2: White nice cotton shirt that fits you good(assuming yoursomewhatbuilt) camo shorts, white nikes.

Not the greatest but i got my own closet with my sh*t, so i know mine. You have to know yours, what you should wear should come easy.

Just wear something casual and what you would normally wear -
As suggested by juvenilepunk, ask her if there is anything specific she'd like for you to bring.

    This advice isn't much better.

You want at least something with a collar, long selves tend to be good too. (Don't wear a tie.) You want long pants and a belt. Take a hat in case it's sunny. Don't wear sunglasses, rings, watch or other adornments.

Brush your hair, brush and floss your teeth, shave, shower well, and get a good night's sleep beforehand. Use both Cologne and anti-perspirant (separately applied, no cheap stuff.)

For a picnic wear comfortable walking shoes, but polish them up first or buy a clean pair for going out so they don't look scruffy.

For your food don't buy anything too cheap. The main meal can be almost anything generically likable, but make sure you have a dessert course, and a bottle of nice wine (red is the norm, but you could go white also) if you're not driving home. (If you are driving home, pick a fancy non-alcoholic drink, imported mineral water for example.)

Also consider your blanket and basket, and it might be a good idea to have a look around the picnic site beforehand to spot the ants and shade etc.

Finally, if its raining on the day you need a backup plan, so think about some alternative indoor date ideas beforehand.
