Sythe Chat... Problem?

K so first, I dont know if this is a problem or not because I have no idea if it was supposed to be like that.

So I saw this :

It says that Cas_M, his username is Cas-M on SytheChat. What if someone creates an account on sythe named Cas-M... What would it be in the SytheChat? This could bring confusion and imposters.

Im just curious.

* I did the thread in suggestion because if an imposter creates an acc (ex. Cas-M) and its the same thing in SytheChat, we have to solve this

 

Simplename (look at your profile) doesn't have this issue.
If there's a collision in simplenames, it'll just add a number on the end, or whatever Sythe configured it on.
This is done automatically, and you don't have to worry about it

 

Ah k True but dont you think that when people see cas-m in sythechat, they will think its an imposter?


Idk if it can be done, but if we could insert the symbols as well as spaces in the sythechat names, it would remove confusion, imposters and just make it clear that its this person.

Also, when pming someone in SytheChat, It would be way more easier to pm a person with a symbol or space in their name

 

If someone makes the Sythe account Cas-M, they're already probably impostering him or any account that is that close.

 

Mmm I dont think you actually read... The point of this thread IS about imposters and confusion in the names on SytheChat

Simple usernames are unique and verifiable on one's profile, I don't really see the issue? They're also a necessary evil for the SytheChat backend (I'm assuming) and useful for other systems that tie in to the Sythe token system

 

My point at the beggining was to see if there was a problem. I see there is not really one so you guys can close this thread
