Surface Pro 3

so like I'm thinking of picking one up on Black Friday, or potentially just ordering one now and getting the 10% student discount

also, I like the surfaces, don't like the shitty touch pad keyboard, the actual one is nice. I'd rather get a Galaxy pad though, the S pen makes the tablet so nice to take notes on. If I'm not writing notes then I don't give a shit and I'd rather buy a macbook air

Yeah I've heard mixed reviews about the touchpad, I'll probably pick up either:Microsoft's Arc Mouse or Logitech's Touch Mouse

See that's the thing, I don't want multiple devices, Galaxy Pad is nice though and I've heard great things about the S pen (same with the Surface 3's stylus so I'm not too worried about it.)
Naaaa apple's os (what is it now, X?) drives me crazy, I pondered buying one and putting 8.1 or Linux on it, but still.

I wouldn't buy a Surface Pro. Maybe the third edition is decent, so I should look at it. Be sure to review it.

 

The first iteration blew massively, the second did some things well, but from everything I've read/researched the 3rd generation seems to do things quite well. Biggest complaint I've read is somewhat lack of "lapability" and the trackpad is overly tiny.

 

Not too bad. I'll look into it later, because Surfaces do interest me slightly. Most computers these days have horrible trackpads, so that's nothing new.

 

Understandable, all through middle and High School we had apple computers so the transition to my mbp, then when I sold that and bought a PC/ Air was easy. If anything I couldn't get used to Windows 8 lol.

With a stylus, I'm sure it's fine, I've just heard from a lot of people that don't have galaxy tabs that their screen senses their hand resting on the screen and throws everything off
