Server too busy?

I keep getting these irritating messages when I try to go to some threads or report posts. =/ is there a way to fix it?

It usually happens around the early mornings for me (GMT +8)

 

You just have to wait it out bro. That's honestly the only solution.

It's just the weekend and plenty of people online.

Well it happened for a long time around 2 hours this morning =/

 

im also in gmt 8+ and i get the same prob in morning, it just means their r a lot of people online (its prob peak hour), just wait a bit it will pass

 

I don't think it's that. This has never happened before. I think someone's DDoSing Sythe >_< The bastards.

Not really. When too many people try to access the server, it cannot take the load and will deny access.

Think about it, if 20 people go to a fast food restaurant and try to get served first, the clerk will deny access to some people.

 

It's been down a lot more than usual for me recently :/ (down/slow same thing)

 

Well I'm in GMT -8 and i get it at night..

 

It's because Sythe gets VERY busy, and sometimes the server can't handle too many people and it will either deny access or just kill itself.
Sometimes when it is VERY busy, when you try to access the site, it comes up with "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"

The best thing is to wait for the server to be free'd up a little

 

It's probably because all those rsbot bastards flocked over here. I could be wrong, though.

The RSBot members could be causing it i get pissed cause it happens every morning.

Can't they upgrade the server? I mean honestly, if you increase the server bandwidth or storage space you can run more lines which = more people on sythe @ 1 times

 

Upgrading costs a lot of cash. Maybe the donations aren't enough to cover the cost.

 

Lol, those little ads up top are $300/m a piece, I asked. That doesn't include what gold4rs is paying which is probably a lot more.

The server isn't more than $500/m, I think its like $300 something. In a post sythe did mention one time how much it cost, but I can't seem to find it.

$300+$300=$600 Plus lets say gold4rs ad is $500 that would be $1,100. Now that only includes the top ads, and not what adbrite gives him which could be a couple hundred every month by looking at the size of this forum.

I don't know how many donations sythe is getting a month, but Matthew takes 50% of those donations. So if someone can figure it out and stuff that'd be cool to give an estimate as to how much.


Anyways to sum up my post... People like their money, but there's room for improvement. If people arn't leaving though, and money is still coming in sythe can handle a few hours of downtime a day.
