Security Feature.

Today I searched email addesses on the top 30 threads in a just one forum using google. I found connections to 4 Ban Evaders and 2 Trade with Caution Evaders.. The last thing I wish to do is tell you how to do your job or be stamped as a Mod Wanna Be. I do so understand the workload you all have taken on with no reward.. But I have to ask "Do we have a future concept toward additional security features?". Please understand the recommendation below is just that, a recommendation/concept to be placed upon the drawing board. Thanks once again for taking the time to review.

The recommendation is an upgrade feature members could consider just as a last step prior to purchasing and/or selling. The upgrade would be to establish a thread/forum that allows members to submit a Sythe member name for review. Moderators that are overseeing this thread/forum would then reply either through thread or PM with Trade with Caution or Ban Evader. Initially, this could be restricted to buyers/sellers with a certain number of postings. Another initial thought would be for members who have 1000 or more postings to apply for a Security Seal which verifies a background check which then based upon workload could then be reduced to 500 postings and so on. This feature does not eliminate someone from being scammed, however it does allow us to slowly take small steps in protecting the legit Sythe members.

Behind the scenes, a Mod would search an established IP and Email address list that have been listed as Banned or Trade with Caution. I would be more than willing to assist in this upgrade if manpower is a constraint. Mod powers are not requested/required if you allow my help. I guess the way I envision this is although the initial workload increase is sure to be seen, take a look at the reduced load with an improved security feature.

Sythe should take steps to increase the protection measures for the legit. Please consider this as a longterm project that would have a series of milestones toward improving a site I greatly enjoy.

That would be the idea.. This feature would allow us to double check for Evaders which seem to run wild here in Sythe with very little thought given to defeat a basic search. Mods on the other hand that could be assigned this task have the ability to search IPs which is something the average young scammer would not change.

 

I don't understand how stupid evaders can be.

Use a proxy, or a VPN.
Is it really that hard?

Either way, good suggestion. It's hard to know who to trust on sythe..

 

Why would they even get banned in the first place. Play safe or gtfo. Tbh

 

An Example: Last night I was looking at a single-letter acccount... I could not track anything on his name using all the outside methods. tbh, I was seriously considering going through with it as he was willing to provide all personal info and have Badger verify ingame. Taking a gamble, I contacted Sin666 and in a matter of seconds it was revealed the member had several banned accounts which Sin quickly tool action in banning him.. again. Do you think he will be back? High $ trades require another level of Sythe assistance which is why I recommended anything over certain $. Thanks Sin, you protected me and others last night with your quick response to my request. I once again kindly ask that a concept like this be considered as this example shows Sythe has the potential to add another layer of protection to members.
