RWT Bans

I know there are no doubt a few people here that have been banned for RWT (Real World Trading). So what I'd like to know is, when you got banned was it once you logged out and tried to log back in? Or did you DC in game and try to log back in and was banned?

On the last 6-7 accounts we where banned on it was once we logged out. In one case, it was 2 trades - went to hop worlds and couldn't log back in since our account was disabled.

Sooo, are your bans the same? Over night, once you've logged out etc?

when i got banned on my accounts it happened overnight. Also a good idea: use an older account to RWT, they rarely bann those

 

Untrue.. Jonathan's 6 year old account got banned yesterday


But thanks for your input. Trying to think if we can RWT without logging out since nothing else seems to be working - VPN, VPS or Drop trading.

 

of course old accs get banned also, but slower. If you make a new account and put bills on it, you will most likely get banned fast.

 

We traded on the account once lmao

 

maybe you traded with an undercovered jagex employee/your IP is flagged/the vpn you used have been used by rwters before

Disconnect is manual. Ban when you're trying to login to the game is easy to prevent deleting all 'cache' files from Jagex.

I've been banned twice and both times it's been while I've been offline.

 

Contact R2P/Arcus/Busta. Ask them how they avoid said wipes, and what the trick is. There is definitely a way to minimise wipes and bans, you just need to know how. They may help you out with some sort of incentive. If those traders were getting wiped/banned as often as you, their profit wouldn't be tens - hundreds of thousands of dollars yearly, nor would any longevity exist for them.

 

Everytime I've been banned and online I lose connection on the account. For avoiding bans make sure your acc is cb 50+. Change VPS every time you get banned too, avoiding other bulk buyers/sellers and Chinese IP's is also a good way to avoid ban but obviously thats not always easy to do .

 

Honestly I don't think there's a secret but it's just bad luck. kmjt would always laugh at me because he did direct trades and didn't get banned on a level 3 in lumbridge. All the major sellers here (r2p, arcus) use player auctions where they are required to direct trade for delivery proof, so it's just luck they're not being caught as much. Meanwhile I did actual staking trades and still got banned sometimes. Usually it would take them a few months to get after me and the account would be banned overnight I believe.

 

I never got banned from RWT. I'm fairly certain that arcus, busta, r2p, etc. use the same or similar techniques as I did.

The discrepancy in ban rates between people is far more than simple variance would suggest.

 

When i was banned it was overnight, nowadays i hardly trade, but i think luck is a big part.

 

Thanks everyone, I'm thinking of holding my gold on a account that doesn't log out, and if it was to log out it would be with no GP on the account. As manual bans, I would trade people from a different account, so no one but myself interacts with the holding account..

Not too sure if this will work, but 100% of my bans have been over night, of once I've logged out. Hopefully we'll have less GP loss, bonds are only 6m atm, so $3~ loss for a ban is better then 10's of 07 mils.

 

My major RWT bans happened immediately after logging out, due to the VPN I was using.

 

I got banned because some guy traded me a bond lol. It's those Jagex no life sons of bitches stalking my fucking ass. I also think as Nick said, a lot of it has to do with luck.

 

I generally agree with the luck comments. The only account I've lost was a main banned while I was logged out about three weeks after my last login. The mules I traded to weren't touched (I went main > mule 1 > mule 2 > buyer), and I still use them today. I've recently started using some old accounts I made in 2005 as well; handled around 50b on those without trouble.

The recipe I'm using is nothing new:
-older accounts are less likely to be banned
-accounts with membership are less likely to be banned
-accounts with stats of some sort (total level > 100 or so?) are less likely to be banned
-accounts trading in members' areas (Yanille, Seers, etc.) are less likely to be banned than those trading in the GE/lumby/duel arena (haven't tested this yet, but I've heard it's true. Confirm/deny/join me in speculation?)
-trading less-likely-to-be-banned accounts makes your accounts less likely to be banned (i.e., trading 2b to a level 4 mule vs to a comp cape account)

It is possible that past transactions have a big role in your future bans. I handled around 350b over the course of six months on my main and definitely think that's helped me since. Again, probably just speculation, but you never know.
