Sorry if this isn't the right section, I don't know where else it goes.
Anyways, I got a ban on Runescape for botting. It is the bot busting moderate ban. Just recently the ban expired but my meter did not reset. It is like half way till permanent ban. Will the meter every go to 0? If any other bans occur, will that go to a permanent? Like I said the ban expired so what does that mean? Thanks.

Probably won't go to 0 unless the ban is quashed (permanently removed). Subsequent infractions won't necessarily get you permed, but you'll be close. Think of it as you were being 10/10 when you were banned, now you're like 5/10. You won't be 0/10 but might be 7-8/10 if you get another minor ban. A ban of similar size will get you over 10/10 and keep you banned though.

So what does expired mean? Like I had to wait 1 year for it to expire.

I don't think the meter goes down unless the case is quashed (meaning it was an error on their side). Resolved cases have no effect on the bars depletion. Cases that are expired deplete the bar (not sure).

I thought when they expired, they were removed - this was the case for a few minor offences on my account committed years ago. It may be bot busting bans they follow the moderate 1st offence then perm rule and don't lower the bar

I apologize if this is a bit off-topic from your thread, but just a question about botting: what sets apart bot busting moderate from botting that causes a perm ban?

depends on membership status/quality of account/severity of botting mainly.

I've been at half for over 3 years. Don't think it changes

Yeah as stated above only if quashed it will go down. Only way to get it quashed is if you have a legitimate alibi such as being hacked and the hacker botted on your account.
