Hello guys, I am going to teach you, what steps you need to take in order to make the most secure trade on Sythe.

Let's begin.

[1] Preparing for a trade.

When you want to trade with a Sythe member, there are some steps which you need to take.

Look at the user Sythe history :

How many posts does it have (if he got many posts in a short period - he is probably a spammer/scammer, if not - it shows that he is a very active member).

Look at his joining date, if he is registered on sythe for atleast 1-2 years - that's perfect, if 11-6 months or more - not bad, if less than 6 months - he is new member and you should get more information about him.

Look at the user trading history :

What vouches does he have, some smart scammers wants to get many cheap or fake vouches, check his vouches, check the people he traded with, contact the people which he used to make the biggest trades.

Check if the user had any scam reports on him.

[2] Making a trade

When you have found a legit member to trade with, send a private message to him with as much information as possible, name your private message correctly to avoid any missunderstandings.

When a user pmed you with his contact details, or if you have sent your contact details and he contacted you, make sure it is the right person - contact him again, copy some of the most important chat conversation and send it to him, ask him about his contact details, this step may look stupid for someone, but it helps to avoid the imposters.

If you see that this person is not an imposter - don't be too happy, an imposter, can try to scam two people at the same time and make them to send a pm message to each other, so provide the more details you can, and ask him to do the same thing.

When you see that everything is correct - make a trade, if you do not trust that person - use a MM/OMM (MM used for the small trades, an OMM for a big ones), OMM list :

Make sure that a MM/OMM is not an imposter, check his contact details very closely, contact him via private message and ask him to send you a confirmation message.

You have finished a trade, but that's not all, you need to know the extra steps you need to take :

^ If the member does not have a very high reputation - use google, google shows many things about the people, google his username, MSN/Skype contact details, all his used emails, full name (Facebook is very good for this).

^ Going first, make sure that a member is legit, do not care about his price/product, if you have more reputation than him - make sure that he goes first, if he does not - use a MM/OMM.

^ PayPal - Make sure you accept a payment as a gift or claim and cancel. If the payment is made via credit card or bank account (e-check), it can be reversed no matter what the payment type was. I suggest you not accept these types of payments from the new members. Make sure to verify his Paypal information, get a proof that he is really the same person, that he owns that Paypal email, in this way you will avoid fraudulent Paypal account. Moreover, ask him to add a note in the payment information that he already received the goods and that he is happy about them (ask not to include anything about virtual items).

^ A trade speed, scammers wants you to make a fast trade, so if it seems a good trade, always ask for much details, do not hurry, do not write PM's in a hurry.

^ No sythe account, if the user says that he does not have a Sythe account - that's a sign that probably he is a banned user, if he says that - make him to create an account and provide his username to a moderator to check if he is not a ban evader/not using a proxy.

^ Western Union, if a member is paying to you via Western Union, do not be too happy, make sure to provide the services only after you claim the payment!

^ Teamviewer, do not let the person to connect to your computer via Teamviewer (unless you know he is very trusted), he can send a malware to you, or to trade the money to himself if you are logged on in RuneScape, sometimes even Teamviewer security settings can not stop scammers, so be very careful.

More security advices for you :

^ Always use a hard to guess password, on every website try to use a different one, be very careful using Facebook, nowhere use the same password.

^ Do not click on links which you do not know, check if a link is hidden, maybe it is a phishing link, do not download the files from untrusted websites/from the topics made by leechers (do not fall for fake Jagex or other phishing emails).

^ Use a Kaspersky/Nod32 Antivirus program, Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware program, from time to time run a full scan.

If you will follow these steps, you will reduce a chance of getting scammed to minimum
