Here's an idea for better safety for the website. I just saw FireZ's post on hovering over someones post to check the actual link.

Here's the idea, remove all the Hyperlinks, and just add Codes to the website, to prevent people from going to websites that they weren't supposed to go to. Thus, people can't trick users to going to a website they didn't intend to in the beginning.

The way people are going to be able to go to the website is just copy and paste, it might take longer, but people always say "Better safe than sorry!".

I'll support this as long as it's optional... I've never fallen for that crude trick.

Was just suggested actually, however you can still hyperlink even with
    Code:
     tags.

What if some one had a useful post that looked neater with hyperlinks?

I know a lot of guides use hyper links to outside websites.

That's a good idea, I think we should keep it like this, IP ban people who are trying to phish because they're vading & just be more cautious.
Even clicking on the link doesn't mean it infects you, you have to 'accept' the java box thing.

Dear god no. I hate sites that I need to copy every single link and open a new tab and paste it in.

What about something like a simple pop up telling people they're leaving Sythe and going to said site, stating the site in the popup?

That's a better idea, I think this should be implemented instead of OPs original idea, I genuinely think it would make a difference.

It wouldn't take much to make
    Code:
tags strictly for text only. I think a rule stating that all links should be coded (after the update) would be fine.

Why can't people just be smart? I mean, its not that hard to hover over the link to see where it goes.

-1 They should keep it as it is now or it's better if they do this:

This. As long as it's optional i'd be fine with it.

It's really not our fault if you don't hover a link before clicking it.

True, but if it's going to prevent a few users from being phished (and as such others being scammed) then surely it's worth doing?

Totally forgot I made this topic, until I just remembered. Anyways, many forums don't allow hyperlinks, and the only way to access a link is to copy and paste the link from the Coded URL. Now, some people can make mistakes and accidentally click the link while they were trying to hover over it.

That is true, yes. But the thing is, do you want cleaner posts or more safety to the users of Sythe?
