OSRS - Partyhat equivalent?

I remember way back in the day only the rich owned partyhats, is there an item on osrs that is sort of the same? As far as guaranteed it won’t lose value and is no longer obtainable?

 

Answer to your question is pretty much no. When 3rd age cloak and sword was over a bil id say that would be the closest you would get to a rare item.

They nurfed the prices which just made it another crappy item on osrs.

There are a few items that show wealth on osrs, I believe the most expensive being the twisted bow? However the bow has a ranged requirement of 75 to wield.

 

I do believe it's the most expensive item atm. Any idea on how it's price will hold up over time?

 

Well its basically the best ranged weapon for pvm and is a must have for all high end content like raids or inferno ( and its extremely unlikely that a better range wep will be introduced for atleast 2+ years)

I doubt it will go up but will probably be relatively stable for a while

 

The lack of partyhat/rare equivalents in OSRS is the main reason I don't like playing it. In RS3, I always have the next rare to work towards so I have a reason and a drive to keep playing. With Old School, I don't have that so I don't see the point. Sure I like the combat and graphics a bit more on OSRS, but not enough to give up all the skills I've worked on for years and years.

 

I would say 3rd Age items are worth quite a bit, like the cloak and the sword.

 

Tbow is only thing I can think of honestly

 

Just wear the party hats you know its true value

Yeah it's pretty annoying having no rares in the game..Disappointing tbh.

 

Unfortunately Jagex said they would never add discontinued items to OSRS

How did they nerf the prices? Genuinely curious, did they increase rates? Or is it because elites are less steps and that clues are easier to get?

 

I believe the prices were super inflated because merchers were hoarding the few that were in the game, drove prices up hella

 

Was it one of the items that was massively overinflated so Jagex manually lowered the price in the GE too? Or was it just Merchers dumping

 

Neither jagex actully did it manually and changed the pricing down from 1b to around 300m. I think its still around that price not to sure though.

Jagex seemed to try and make a super rare cosmetic that would be worth a lot (bucket helm (g)) but that didn't work out, people playing OSRS are not interested in cosmetics like people in RS3 seem to be interested.

I still keep a dozen of them in my bank, every now and again they rise enough to sell for a profit.
