Rewriting these things a third time is a waste of everybody's time.

 

I think the idea was a brief intro for newcomers to read that they wouldn't just skip past due to it being a wall of text..

It'd either be PM'd or show up on sign-up or something.

I'm thinking post it as a thread and PM them something shorter. They will never read all that! But I do quite like it!

 

If it were PM'd, it'd be a good resource to refer back to as they discover things.

This doesnt have to apply to newcomers only but I was thinking that there should be a thread where you can read all about sythe and at the end, you can take a quiz. If you pass the quiz, you can get a minirank? I think this will encourage people more than just forcing them to read.

 

That looks fantastic. If you can save 10% of new players getting scammed isn't that a good place to start? Perhaps you could give them some sort of Easy to complete questionnaire before they join? Just a couple of SIMPLY questions and explanations that will help them out, EG - How can you stop yourself being scammed, A) Use an official middleman B) Review a sellers vouches C) Ask for a private message from sellers to avoid imposters D) All of the above

This would only take a few seconds to complete but would force new players to gather the information.
