Minecraft section

For now, I'd say no, but if it continues to grow in popularity and even more threads about it are made, I would support this. I've bought an account and played this game and I have to say, it's quite fun.

 

I love playing Minecraft, but tbh I really don't see how you can talk about it. All you can really do is show screenies of what you did. Discussing how to make TNT and such is really not necessary because you have the Minecraft wiki to tell you how to do that. I haven't been really active recently though so I can't really tell you whether or not minecraft threads are being created, but if there is a large amount of them being created, a minecraft section in the gaming section probably would be a good idea, but in the marketplace it wouldn't happen because there is nothing to sell in that game lol.

 

Actually, there is, somewhat. On a guy's server (username: kiwiman) he some how modded sign posts to where, if you right click them, you can pay money for orders of rare materials like diamond and gold blocks, etc.

These sections could be used for discussions of peoples own servers as well as any Sythe official servers!

 

I support, minecraft is a well known and massively played game. it would be a nice attachment to sythe.

 

Support, even though MinecraftForum has most of the stuff covered, and theres not really anything blackmarketable about minecraft.

We could technically sell accounts... Accounts are usable by as many people as you want.

 

Maybe there should be a section full of single subsections for smaller games

I like what Niini said, instead of having a full blown section for Minecraft, it should be a subsection along with other small games in a single "Small Game" section

And if it takes off, maybe then you can switch it over to a full section of it's own.

 

I think this would restrict the ability of the forums to expand and become popular... It doesn't need to be compacted.

 

I don't agree with this because to new or infrequent users, they see a whole forum and subforum setup dedicated to this subject, and they see that there's about 5 threads in each subforum and they may think it's inactive and not worth posting in.

Alternatively, if they're looking at a nice little dedicated subforum with 25 threads I think they'd be more inclined to use it.

I also don't think that the forum structure itself dictates how popular the subject will be. It'll only be as popular as the game of which the forums are built for. Why risk having a fat inactive forum and subforum when you can start out with a sort of trial setup and see if there's enough threads or enough interest to be split up into subforums.

 

Minecraft IS as popular as it needs to be to make it a full section, but i see you're point. Problem with that is, the amount I've seen other forums minecraft sections boom, There's going to be a lotttttt of posts
