    iTunes Help

Okay, my iTunes has been acting really gay. Somehow Quicktime got deleted, so iTunes wouldn't open. So, I uninstalled iTunes and downloaded the latest version. When I run the setup, this error pops up:

I have no idea where this might be located, as I have uninstalled iTunes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

You may have deleted a source folder/file.

    Try installing and re-installing?

(I got this from google. MUCH faster ;))

I uninstalled it completely. I have tried Google, but it isn't helping. :( Also, I get this error as I'm installing, can't really re-install if there's nothing to install D:

    Uninstall iTunes and Quicktime.

Delete the folder "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple" and all of its contents

    Restart your computer.

Get the latest iTunes download (8.0.*) Don't install it.

    Download and install WinRAR.

Rename the iTunesSetup.exe to itunes.rar and the icon should change to a pile of books. Right click the file and select Extract to itunes\.

Navigate to the itunes folder. These files are the individual installer files that get extracted and ran when you install itunes via the packed setup.

Install each one individually. The reason iTunes wouldn't install all of these files before was because your registry settings told setup that these things were already installed so it skipped some of these components. Installing these individually solves that problem.

In the future if you ever have problems like this again, try downloading CCleaner. Fixes registry errors and cleans temporary files; it's absolutely great.

It may not pick up some things as I think it skips over errors that are bad links since sometimes they are valid, but it should clear up this issue.

It seems it could not find a file that was in the installer its self... That is kinda weird.

Used Daily's guide, worked perfectly! Thanks :) Blupig, downloaded just to be safe. :)

A mod can close this now.
