I'd appreciate if anyone could tell me how to fix this or at least why it's doing what it's doing.. Half the time I try to get on youtube on my internet, the video plays jsut fine, but the music is gone. If I try to play music via iTunes it's just fine. The sound button on youtube is on too.. Not muted.. Speakers on max and it doesn't work. However, as soon as I restart my computer it's fine. Any ideas why?
Could be some kind of flash/driver issue. It could also be a problem with your browser...Get Firefox, reinstall Flash, and check that your sound card drivers are up to date.
Stop yer whining ... no1 visits tech support. This happened to me 2 weeks ago... But I forgot what I did. Umm.. •double click the speaker near your clock (bottom right) to get the mixer - maxe sure everything is up and balanced. • Re-install Flash - go to add/remove and uninstall macromedia/adobe flash players •Check your wires! • Restart computer • Try other random videos • Google the problem! theres a QnA at youtube somewhere.
This problem has been reported with Firefox, IE, and Safari. It is basically a drivers problem. I would recommend getting TuneUp Utilities 2008 if you want to keep using these browsers for videos, because there IS a registry fix but it didn't work for me. What I would recommend doing, no doubts about it, is downloading either Google Chrome or Opera -- neither of these browsers encountered problems with YouTube audio. You basically need something to do a registry check for you - if it turns out that nothing was broken, just change your web browser to Opera. If it still doesn't work, IDK what to say.
Happened to me about 2 weeks ago [but might not be the exact same thing]. If you use Vista, a recent update requires you to update your sound card drivers to meet Vistas standards. (Vista and their fucking requirements.) Go to your manufacturers site and download/install the latest sound card drivers.
