Game Project Idea

I need to make a Flash Game for an independent project in school. A flash game is something along the lines of what you'd find on www.newgrounds.com/ - Simple and addicting if possible. Look around the site and see what you like, etc. and suggest a manageable project - Nothing like Skyrim please.
So basically tell me what the game is about. For example

This game already exists BTW, so don't suggest it.

I am currently leaning to a side scrolling platformer, but I need more details (EG, who you are playing, what you can upgrade, what you do / kill, etc)

 

Could always just make the typical side-scroller where you go around and kill shit, but give it a different spin...With something like really weird weapons, like a hampster canon or something. I'd play that

The trick to any successful flash game, is to have a few qualities, such as..

~ Lots and I mean LOTS of weapons to choose from

~ All weapons and items must be diverse in stats and looks

~ Simple, but meaningful upgrades, I hate playing a game where after every round I have enough money to upgrade my indirect gravitational pull mechanism bodily function thing from 1/100 to 2/100. The whole time im thinking "Bitch fuck this I want to jump higher".

~ Simplicity. If I have to go through a 20 minute tutorial to play a game with 5,000 different buttons and options on the screen I am out instantly. I play flash games because they are simple, and enjoyable to pass the time.

@TxT it's easier than making an iPhone app etc, that's for sure, but you still got to know what you are doing

No hentai. My school will roast me alive if I come in on presentation day and show a hentai game. lol

 

What program do you use to make them? K want to either learn app programming or flash games.

 

Adobe Flash Don't ask here, just google it. I am not a resource for this type of thing. I want ideas.

Well at this point I'm leaning between a puzzle-platformer where you are searching for treasure in a dungeon, and an infinite, randomly generated jumping game
Any opinions?

 

Upgrade games are something I personally find fun. This is due to wanting to get the next tier of weapon/object. There are many of them around on different sites. As for the jumping game, I found this entertaining for a while http://www.addictinggames.com/strategy-games/challenge-accepted-game.jsp. There was also another similar to this, which is also a platform/puzzle game which I can't remember it's name, sorry.
