Crying Blood

Haven't done a piece in a while .. I recently started art school, and there was this contest between the first year student, and i made this .. it's a fairly quick piece i did, It got me second place

note* i haven't dont photoshop in a while now, I'm starting to get the feel again

The piece looks really forced, and the elements aren't organic. Take the blood and the eyes - they look like an after thought just pasted on for 'effect'. Some of the C4Ds need better blending.

I like the overall idea, but some parts aren't executed properly.
The eyes don't look too well and the blood looks too harsh and doesn't look like actual fluid.
You might just want to take a look at that.
Also : c4ds are a bit oversharpened, try to get those things smoother.

 

Yea, now that you guys mention it.. i could work on the blending of the c4d a bit more and maybe making the blood more like "blood", didn't really see that tbh, but that's why CnC is always great

I'm not some master GFX artist but I guess it won't hurt to just give my thoughts on the piece. Something about it, I can't pinpoint exactly what, but something about it turns me off. It might be the color scheme, or the original photo itself. The thought/attempt is a great one and could make for an amazing piece of art but something about the photo just doesn't look right. I think it may be the colors. Sorry it's such a vague thing to say .

I really love this piece. It has great composition and the tones are well employed. The eyes and blood - yes they need some work with blending, as do the C4Ds surrounding her. Maybe a multiply on the eyes and give the blood some different tones then soft light maybe? But I totally get the style you were going for and you did it really well, just a few blending issues is all. Posted on your dA because this is some sexy work.

You guys think i should also put some blood spilling out of her skin surroundings the c4d? as if the c4d is embedded in her skin making it bleed?.. would that work?

 

Damn that's a pretty nice pic dude, although I find it's a bit creepy

 

I like it, but I think there's something off between the black/white and red.
Maybe try adding a bit more red, or making the red a lot darker so it doesn't stand out so much?
idk just my opinion.
