what exactly is turm and zerk mean? i havent played rs in years and just getting back into it

Im in the process of making a d claw pure and i planned on having 1 def, but on accedently got it up to 8, am i best off leaving it at 8 or getting it a little higher, and ifso where should i get it to and why? thanks for you help. current stats are att 60 str 61 def 8
