RaSc = Ban Videos
What are your thoughts on this?

99% of the time it is a Youtube video. You cannot see these very well as the quality is extremely sub-par. Also we don't have time to sit there and watch a 5 - 15 min trade video and review it over and over to get our decision right.

Also taking the important screenshots from the video and giving us those is 10x faster to review, and we already have more then enough work to do down there.

Of course if absolutely neccassary I could/would make a rare exception for a video.

I agree, I've had some bad experiences with vids in the past (such as I recorded and posted.)

I do always use 720 hd, but still, its faster for screenies.

I don't think you should ban videos but require screen shots that go along with the video.

Disagree. For PA videos are the only valid proof for sellers. Maybe have a length limit and have them tell you where to watch.
This.
Especially for high trades, vids are needed.

But I can completely see your side of the story, but there's really no way around watching the video:/

Screenshots > videos

If I have the screenshots, the videos become irrelevant, thats my point.

A 1m gp trade is the exact same as a 5B gp trade, no difference. Screenshots from the video show the important parts rather then having to watch irrelevant things.

The way I see it, people need to record their trades. If something goes wrong, then they can go back to the recordings, and get the screenshots necessary to provide valid proof.

I personally still have videos archived from March. I vid EVERY MM, EVERY Purchase, and EVERY sale from start to finish.

I probably have enough video to back up $10,000+ worth of gp trades, and can go back to any given one at any time and get any information I may need from them if something comes up.

I suppose you're right on that point.
If the video has enough proof to ban, then clearly screenshots of said video should serve the same purpose.

I know you're a volunteer and are not being paid for your time or anything, but if a video is posted that could make or break someone's case, I think it should be watched. I completely disagree with what you're saying.

I feel like videos hold a higher standard as they are generally harder to fake, for the average user. Anybody can edit the logs themselves with a little knowledge of HTML, and it also really doesn't require that much skill to fake a screenshot.

Just because you personally do not have the time to watch videos should not mean that they should be banned as proof imo.

It would be stupid to start allowing videos only on a case to case basis. This makes it look like some scams are more important than others. This not fair to anyone.

People just need to stick to screenshots, they are much more convenient for everyone. If people have to use videos they are just being lazy, and essentially taking up more of the staff's time that could be spent doing other things. Screenshots would probably cut the time spent in half.

Support.

My first RaS was with posted along with a 10 minute video, once i relized how busy you all were i started posting screenies only. There are going to be some circumstances where you cant avoid posting a video but i think as firez said it should be a last resort.

As you said, we are volunteers. If it weren't for us being here in the first place, this site would not run as well as it does.

How about you give those of us who volunteered OUR time to help YOU a little bit of a break, and help us out. Don't waste our time. Record your trades. If something goes bad, go back to your recordings, and post screenshots from the video. If by chance the screenshots you posted still aren't enough proof, then go back to your video, and get more. If that's still not enough, then I personally would ask the person to show me the video on teamviewer, as this will be MUCH more efficient than having them upload it and risk the video integrity being damaged during upload.

In certain cases vids should be allowed but majority of the time the videos are unclear especially for looking at the contact address. If videos are allowed I'm pretty sure it will take longer to deal with scammers as many people add unnecessary moments in their videos.

Also for reading chat logs displayed in conversations you would have to pause and play which means if you have to reference back to something it could take a while to find. Majority of the stuff available in videos can easily be extracted into pictures but people are too lazy.

In my opinion videos should be allowed in certain cases such as the ending where a member logs out of msn/ in game and doesn't respond. This would probably be a 30 second video at most and should be uploaded with high quality so msn/ character names can easily be read.

I agree with nano i record everything ive done so far and archived them if for some reason my screenies are not good enough i can go back to vid and gather more screenies, if all else fails then upload vid its good to keep this method in practice imo :)

Not for PA. PA requires proof of an in game gold transfer to the correct character. They rarely accept MSN convos and when they do only as supplements. To prove a gold trade, you need a video of the trade being accepted.

I however agree with N4N0 that for sythe disputes, people should just take relevant screenshots out of their videos and only post the video if it is requested.

I agree and disagree. What if thats the only evidence they have on the scammer? I mean you never know so..

I'm sorry, but that is false. I have won cases on PA with pictures.

them trading you with all gold them accepting in last trade, then accepted trade after that. no need for a video. just two simple screenshots.
