Patched SERIOUS Bug

So for the past 48 hours there has been a very serious bug that appeared in the duel arena, and with some teamwork with the ranks of Elite Ranks we managed to figure out how it's done (after several hours of trying) and successfully get a report to Mod Shauny at about midnight last night.

The bug involved setting up a stake with a noxious weapon with summoning on so you go to a private arena. Using the noxious special and immediately forfeiting the match. From that point forward until you logged out you had an INVISIBLE spider that would deflect all damage dealt to you (the special was changed so that it didn't just absorb damage, it dealt the damage back to the source). All stake setting were 100% normal as well as 28 vial inventory, there was literally no way of knowing until you lost. BILLIONS were lost in the arena, I was lucky enough to dodge it. A couple Xer hosts were caught doing it as well.

What's more is that this bug worked in pvm too. Tested against a few bosses it worked against KBD, KK, QBD, GWD, AND GWD2. This bug gone unnoticed could have been a cash cow for someone.

It was quickly patched but the damage was well done. I'm simply posting because I think this could have been huge but it was handled fairly quickly even though it did a decent amount of damage in the staking community, I'm unsure of high level pvm.

 

Imagine something like this in OSRS. Oh wait...

But good thing you guys reported the bug, nice find as well.

 

I've actually thought about that, it's not as abusive as the corp bug seeing as you still take damage, but you can very easily solo high level bosses with the bug.

 

I unfortunately was victim to this having to refund over 500M in bets :/

 

DA is still buggy, got scammed earlier during a 400m stake. Something to do with activating teamwork protection/deflect magic before the duel starts.
