Black Lives Matter

What do you think (about the movement) and why?

 

We've already shared are opinions on this matter, so I'm not going to go in depth about it.
All Lives Matter, change there slogan and direct it towards all unlawful crime/killings, and I would support it...

 

I hate the movement. Firstly they are either blatantly racist or just stupid. They go on about how people don't think black people's lives matter when clearly their lives are the only ones anyone cares about. Far more white people are killed by police every year but you never hear about it on the news because no one cares. People actually care when black people die, for some reason. They also seem to be infested by black supremacists who hate white people as well as thugs who just want to attack people and break stuff. It's an awful movement that needs to be wiped out.

 

If they feel they are being unlawfully targeted by police, why would they not speak for themselves? Are black people supposed to speak for everyone when they are the minority? Why did All Lives Matter only become a thing after Black Lives Matter, as if it was to spite their movement? Why do people assume that Black Lives Matter means Only Black Lives Matter? Why should the slogan change?

 

1. Cops killed nearly twice as many whites as blacks in 2015. According to data compiled by The Washington Post.

2. Black and Hispanic police officers are more likely to fire a gun at blacks than white officers. This is according to a Department of Justice report in 2015.

3. Blacks are more likely to kill cops than be killed by cops. This is according to FBI data, which also found that 40 percent of cop killers are black. According to Mac Donald, the police officer is 18.5 times more likely to be killed by a black than a cop killing an unarmed black person.


40 percent of Cop killers are black. That right there shows you Black Lives Matter is B/S...

 

There's this dumb idea that saying black lives matter somehow implies others don't, or that they are lesser valued.

The movement is the result of generations of subjugation and silence. We live in an age where people have a voice and a large collective of colored folk are using their voice to express discontent with the overly aggressive American police force.

 

There are nearly 160 million more white people in America than there are black people. White people make up roughly 62 percent of the U.S. population but only about 49 percent of those who are killed by police officers. African Americans, however, account for 24 percent of those fatally shot and killed by the police despite being just 13 percent of the U.S. population. That means black Americans are 2.5 times as likely as white Americans to be shot and killed by police officers.

Demographic coverage. You're more likely to find black and hispanics living/working in close proximity with one another. This means the likelihood for interaction increases.

I don't see the correlation. Does this report not account for gang violence? How does this show Black Lives Matter is bs?

 

So you just said they're 160 million more whites than blacks, yet 40 percent of cops deaths are from blacks. Thanks for the facts, you just proved yourself wrong.
Pretty ironic how less blacks than whites, yet they have more cop kills than whites, and think they're mistreated... LOL... BLM is a joke

 

Inner cities are more likely to harbor gang violence/activity. Cops working in these inner cities are more likely to have their lives at risk. Inner cities are mostly inhabited by African Americans and Hispanics. How did I prove myself wrong and how does this prove Black Lives Matter is bs?

 

Police officers (regardless of their race) are also less likely to shoot black people than white people in similar situations according to a new study by a black Harvard professor.

Blacks think they deserve justice? For what? Fewer population, and they still kill more cops than any other race... that's ironic to me. Also makes 0 sense

This should make sense of things. Also, you haven't proved anyone wrong.

 

How is the black lives matter exclusive? It may be inclusive, but why exclusive? It is not being argued that any other lives don't matter; rather, there is an attempt to bring attention to possible struggles faced by black Americans.

I hate it. And the media is just making it worse. Many more white people are killed by cops. And per million, more native americans are killed than black people by cops. You don't see a Native American Lives matter campaign. To me it is a very hypocritical movement.

 

I'm black & i think it's the dumbest and more ignorant movement out. Black lives matter movement is so hypocritical.
