The stupid fucking teachers in my school consider laptops and nearly all other technologies irrelevant to the learning process because they don't understand how to implement them effectively. I have to do math with a pencil, paper, and no calculator, because the teachers are too fucking dumb to realize that in any situation where the math is actually applicable, a calculator will be present, and will be used.

eh, Im permitted to use calculators, your teachers are on crack . ask them to do the hardest problem you have on your paper in a small ammount of time. THen rub it in their faces and say fuck you

We are allowed to use calculators in some cases, but my stupid student teacher says we can't use them for radicals (hardest subject) and that we just have to simplify instead.
What the fuck is the point of simplifying if you could just put it in a calculator and get a real answer?

Also, my Science teacher wouldn't let us use laptops for research on animal reproduction. THERE IS NO INFORMATION IN THE LIBRARY.

 

Cause putting radicals into the calculator doesn't give you an exact answer.

My issue was not just with radicals, but with a lack of willingness for the school district to adapt to new technologies in general, specifically computers.

They don't let you use calculators on some things so you can learn them. If everyone just used calculators from the start, we'd forget how to actually do the shit without calculators. As for the laptop thing, they won't let you use it because most people will abuse it.
