Advice for Jagex

I've seen a lot of posts and statements about how Runescape has been going down hill and isn't really slowing down. What do you think Jagex can do, or should do, in order to turn things around?

 

Waaaay to late for that. This topic has been going on since 2008-2009. Jagex has gone to far. Its all about the money and always has been since andrew and paul sold their shares.

 

F2P in 07 as well as RS3.

Bring back 2010 RS2 as well.

So there would pretty much be 3 different servers.

07, 2010, RS3

And there will be more as they keep making stupid updates and go to RS4, then they will have to make an RS3 server.


They've pasted the point of no return, unless they make their game 100% F2P, in which case it would be awesome but too many people would bot skills that are members only like thieving, because if they are banned, oh well!

 

Why do you guys think they have reached the point of no return? What is it that they cannot recover from?

 

i use to play the 07 version back in 07. i quit in like 08. i logged onto rs3 having knowledge of runescape aswell, and was confused as fuck and didn't knwo wher to go next.

 

Rs3 and eoc are epic jagex ruining the community is what will sink it.

 

The player base has declined since 2007, if Jagex really wanted to fix their game, they would have done it more than half a decade ago.

The "point of no return" which players refer to, is a collective name for a span of updates pre-dating 2007. I remember back in 2004/2005 Jagex were "ruining the game". There is no single point, and never will be. It's just a phrase coined for each point at which the game changes slightly.

Some people don't agree with certain updates. There aren't many people who don't agree with all update. If there are, they shouldn't be playing lol.

Personally I don't think Jagex can do anything except continue down the path they're currently on. In the past when they have made u-turns (generally speaking), they have received just as much hate. The possible exception being free-trade and removal of the Wilderness.

To compete in a modern market, Jagex needs to attract new players because it's current (older) player base are outgrowing the game, and moving on.

The problem I see, is that new players are utterly bewildered and have no decent starting point in a vast, huge game which is centred around high level players. There's very little reward for lower level players, and even less for brand new players.

tl;dr, Old discussion is old. The game isn't "dying" any more now than it ever has been, less players doesn't mean a dying game. Jagex as a company has continued to grow and continues to make money.

 

1) Make it their goal to respond to EVERY forum thread at least once.

2) Create polls before deciding whether to release content.

3) Fire Mod Jacmob, he is a joke and really makes their company look pathetic.

 

I'd like to see PvP return without the abilities.

 

I don't think Jagex should try to turn it around. No game lasts forever and Runescape has run its course. They should continue milking it as much as they can on the way down.

 

Keep going the way they are, I'm enjoying it, people need to be open to change.

 

I hope they start to spend some serious time in advertising as well as lower leveled content, in order to increase player population...

 

I think they should stop worrying so much about RWTers and botters and focus mainly on releasing content. Botting may ruin the game, but RWT doesn't really do anything lol.

 

i wonder what it would of been like if Andrew and Paul still owned this. Andrew seem to actually care and love the games even though he sold Runescape. He already started creating a new game called fen research.

 

-allow rwt, it doesn't really affects the game at all, if some1 wants to rwt, he will... it would also bring back more people who didn't know about rwt before, and quit because of low bank.

-remove eoc

-fire retarded mods... jacmob: biggest retard ever, he banned hosts without reasons and so on.... silentc0re: sold a shoutout for 2b(!!!) to gp stall, and he rwted the gp, while runeshark declined a 50b(!!!) offer from fishy... and these guys are mods...

-better player support staff...if i had any problems and i wanted to talk to a jmod and explain them what happened, i simply coulnt talk to any1

-better content (more bosses,improove PvP,new items, new skills)

-more microtransactions (if it give jagex more money, and we get better content, then its very good, but if they jsut spend it for devolution of combat, then no)

I agree... Staffing could solve a large amount of current issues. They need more support staff and need newer ideas that work with the community that also encourages new players to play

 

Yeah I'd have to agree with everyone above, hire the retarded mods. Also they need to find a way to attract new players, since a large majority of people playing now are veterans and if you look at their Facebook page, it's gotten no new likes for the past few months.

 

The game is ruined. They can't go back and the only thing they can do is make it worse.
