Laws on RWT on RuneScape?

So then I just need a little bit of verification from you guys. Is it illegal to sell anything on RuneScape for real money?

Like could they sue me or take me to jail?

Also what about tax evasion? Could I get sued or what not for that?

Sorry I know the answer just want a bit of verification as have had the question on my mind for about a year now.

It is technically breaking Jagex ToS, but they are unlikely to take legal action.

Seriously? A terms of service agreement is an agreement to play the game, if you violate the ToS they can cut your access to the game and that's it. They can't sue you for selling gold as it wouldn't stand up in court. If you make a significant income off of selling gold then you probably should file it in your taxes or you could get audited and forced to pay a large sum of money at once.

 

They will not sue you or throw you in prison and i don't think your country would even extradite you to england to face the charges.

no need to worry about either. its not a legit business, do drug dealers need to pay taxes for selling drugs? terms of service breaking will only get you banned from the game.

 

Careful with that. I don't know about the law in America and about the IRS or whoever is in charge of the taxes there, but here in Germany it's suspicious and it will raise some questions if you happen to recieve many (and maybe even big) payments to your bank account / paypal account for selling RS gold.

 

No one who has ever RwT'd (unless they were bot-makers, and high profile ones at that) has ever had any action taken against them other than a banned account.
