    I get anxiety over little things

    For example I always panic when listening to black metal or those one with scream and growl like the Psychosocial by Slipknot, I'm not really listening to it but I was just curious because my friend told me about Slipknot and I have had heard about them a long time ago but didn't really know them so just with the intro I feel anxious, also when the teacher tells me to solve something on the board and I feel like it's gonna be the end of the world.

    What causes this and what do you think is the easiest way to get rid of this? :eek:

    I get anxiety over little things

    Hey, anxiety is a natural human trait, but in certain people it's felt to an extent in which it's adverse and harmful. People can feel extreme anxiety over numerous different things, an example being social anxiety which many individuals have to overcome.

    This may be hard to hear, but I believe the best way to deal with it, is simply to attempt to embrace it. What I mean by that is, challenge yourself in situations which make you feel anxious, really small ones at first, and work your way up. For example, list all of the things that cause you to feel t his extreme anxiety and then rank them from the smallest to the most significant. Then gradually, starting at the easiest, work your way up, challenging the fear and nervousness you feel. It won't be easy, but it's a proven form of therapy I have much simplified, called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT.

    If it seems too overwhelming and daunting to do, you could always contact your local doctor (GP here in England) and discuss the possibility of getting some form of therapy to help you.

    There are many medications used to calm anxiety... At once you're in school, it may be harder to do as you won't be allowed to carry a bottle of prescription pills around in your pocket (or perhaps with this kind of thing the doctor would tell the school they HAVE to let you?)

    It would be something to look into. There are therapies like DinaH mentioned, but I find medications are usually much better for the short term.

    edit: I tried listening to it and I'm slowly getting used to it, I try to think that it's just a "music".

    Physical Excercise also does wonders too man. get out and run if you are able to, or lift weights. Take in more protein as it will help with your anxiety as well.i also take an over the counter vitamin called GABA which is like a natural amino acid that also is helpful. lots of resources out there. you dont have to go running to the doctor or see a shrink for your problems cause alot of it is solveable on your own and you just have to be persistant in telling yourself that. positive self talk. so many way man. good luck.
