1. Levitating Cup Trick

Materials:
a styrofoam cup

Procedure:
This trick is simple. all you need to do it hold the cup in your hands so that your thumbs aren't showing. For the trick, push one of your thumb tips through the cup and release your fingers from the cup. Wiggle the cup a bit to show that it is "levitating."
Note: This trick only works with a forward audience.

2. Selected card levitation

Materials:
a peice of tape
a deck of cards
a peice of magicians wax (the kind of soft sticky wax that you can get from the orthodontist- or just go to a magic shop and buy one.)
a strand of invisible thread (if you dont know what this is.... go to a magic shop or pull a tiny tiny tiny fiber out of a really soft stretchy black sock.)

Preparations:
make a tiny ball of wax and roll one end of the thread into it. tape the other end behind your ear. (sounds stupid but just make sure its not showing. it will work.) now stick the ball of wax under the fingernail of your thumb.
NOTE: the thread should not be visible. EVEN UP CLOSE... thats how minuscule the fiber is.

Procedure:
First you can either force a card to be pro, or you can just have a person select a card at random, then have them memorize their card. Have them hand the card to you while you have your eyes closed and head turned. Now stick the ball of wax on THE TOP OF THE BACK OF THE CARD (almost on the top edge.) Next have the spectator split the deck and hand the halves back to you. place the card with the wax in there. Now hold the bottom of the deck with your free hand. (make a "C" with your hand and stick it in there!) Use your other hand (open palm, spread fingers...) and act like you are raising the card up with your mysterious powers. While doing this, use the thread and your hand to make a lever to raise the card up... slowly. =D

3. UFO card

Materials:
same as #2

Preparation:
same as #2

Procedure:
Take a card at random and say this is your lucky card to the audience. Say that one day it started doing strange things and that it has powers of its own. Now stick the wax on THE MIDDLE (try to be precise - you can look at it if you need to) of the card and spin it - letting it swing in an arc - and catch it. This takes some practice. Try it numerous times in front of the mirror and by your self until you have it MASTERED.
