Youtube embedding

Alright, so you lazy bastards who don't like ease of use suggestions can go stick your dick in a blender, this isn't a thread for you.

Youtube embedding, every new user does it incorrectly for the first time because the system is retarded. You should just copy the entire link between youtube tags instead of everything after the v= nonsense.

Full Screen, you should be able to click the video into full screen without leaving the page. It works on every forum I've ever visited, why can't we implement this already?

Shouldn't be too difficult to fix, helps simplify both embedding and viewing youtube videos. Do it, thanks.

This was fixed then somehow reverted, tis on the Admin list. Gonna pester Rich to knock some bullets off it next time I see him online.

The problem is all youtube links look like this:

And the part that saying "watch?v=" is HTML, and bbcode can't turn that URL into a viewable video. So new users would have to know to remove "watch?v=" and just have the simplified URL (something like this: http://youtu.be/1kHAy3450yU ), and it would be way more difficult for them to understand than just using the video code. Or something along those lines, I don't remember if watch?v is JS or HTML, but either way, the bbcode can't recognize it and it doesn't work

 

This user is in no way, shape or form a vader.

I understand what you're saying but clearly there must be a workaround to this. Roary just mentioned that they fixed it before and it somehow reverted itself.

 

It can be done quite easily. It is just simple string manipulation.

 

Gonna stick this in approved and wait for the list to get done
