The bailout is corporate capitalism, not socialism.

One of the leading domestic issues for the American public for decades has been for a national healthcare system. Their preference is that they want something like medicaid extended to the whole population. Public opinion doesn't matter though. The fact that manufacturing companies like GM have got involved in the last couple years and pointed out that it costs more for them to be making cars in Detroit than in Windsor, Canada. That's because there's a decent healthcare system.

So further socialisation of the healthcare system isn't even down to some actual socialist ideology.

 

He looks like a great leader. However, deep down i feel that he will turn out to be a disappointment

 

He's been picking decent people for his cabinet positions, so I don't think it will turn out as terrible as you guys are predicting.

Although I am worried about the chances that he'll be killed. 1 / 10 US Presidents are killed in office, while 1 / 4 have an assassination attempt on them. Obama's a lot better than Biden.

 

im sure someone will finally carry out there plan to assinate obama some people were just waiting for him to be shot when he was announced the 44th president

 

Lol, well, according to the President-elect, he plans to "share the wealth"

The definition of communism and socialism is essentially, "sharing wealth"

With Canada spending $3,326 per capita on healthcare compared to $6,401 in the USA, with better outcomes, I can't guess what you're going to criticize.

 

And in the process make us all poorer as a whole...

 

Probbly 75% of the people who have posted just say what their parents raised them to say [aka dogma] I believe Obama will do a terrfic job, like clinton did (only president to get a standing ovation leaving his office by the UN), economy booming, and few enemies.

 

Im not American but I do take interest in international politics, from what I've seen from different news feeds he seems quite promosing, lets hope he does well

 

I'll be having the honor of sitting fifty feet from him as he takes the oath of office on the 20th

It's truly going to be a historical event. The amount of barriers that this inauguration brings down are priceless.

I can't wait to see how he implements the policies he's been supporting for so long.

Why do you say that? Bill Clinton mostly just happened to be in the right place at the right time. The only good thing he really did was pay down the debt which reduced inflation (although it should be noted it was basically pushed on him by a republican congress)

 

Dropkick, the point is is that Clinton did not leave America as an impoverished country. When he left, America was actually getting along fairly well (not THAT well but enough to be noted.) A President's actions show themselves through how they leave as leader.

Also, Barack shows some promise. Myself being a democratic liberal (and no they are not the same thing, you can look up) i support him and his ideals. With the backing of mostly democratic Congress, i feel that this country could get back on its KNEES, by the end of his term.

Thats in the bill of rights he cant change that i doubt the congress could do that, the only thing he could do is tax the hell out of ammo prices which would reduce gun shooting sense ammo would be pricey.
