Yes, I'm sure they can do that. However, the other person might be just your friend living next door. So IP's can be different. Or it might be your friend half way across the state. Either way, they can issue a ban if they think your actions are suspicious. Checking IPs aren't the only way to ban scammers, if you think checking IPs are the only way they can find scammers, then you are a frog living in a well. Not being able to see the whole world.

And I'm pretty sure, there's no need to use so much vulgarity if you have done nothing wrong and sold your upgrade legitly. You just used like around four swear words in just two sentences. That is something suspicious.
