Alright, here's my first signature ever in photoshop. Some credit obviously goes to 5w33t p00p3r (Sweet Pooper), for giving me an in-depth tutorial, which I really needed, and no one else would give me. Hopefully Darby will post on this, I will enjoy his criticism.

Reminder, this is only my first.

Only progress from here my friend. Of course, it was only my first, and now that I have figured out layers, and I'm not a brush-whore, I should progress nicely. I will continue to mess around, and ask for help when needed.

I notice how you saw I'm not a brush whore.
    The best started out brushing.
You learn to master and utilize default brushes only through beginning with downloaded brushes.
I won't CnC seeing as it's your first.

And you think in sig making you can't get worse, and only better.
    WRONG.
You will always get in blocks and become worse and have to start from square one.

Well I meant, hopefully from here I will only get better. And do you think I should use brushes for my next few signatures?

I like it even though my opinion means nothing seeing as I'm shit at GFX, etc. Maybe sometime you'll get to the point that you'll be able to teach me haha. Keep going if you enjoy it.

It's good for a first, you've at least made an attempt to blend the render and not have horrible sticky-out text (Though there's obviously room for improvement).

And duri, everyone starts with brushes, but through practice you can get just as good without, straight from the starting line.

Yea but there are things you learn from using brushes that you don't really pick up as easily starting with defaults.

And yes I suggest you start with brushes.
TBH the main reason. It lets beginners think their good. WHY? Cause the audience prefers it giving you praise making you think your good making you devote more time making you learn more making you get better.

Eventually you should learn what brushes are actually used in sugnatures.

Defaults, And ones you make yourself. With few exceptions.

decent enough for 1st time, but the colours kinda clash, the bg is a bit random compared to the render (wtf is it lol?), but obviously seeing as it is your 1st, decent (8/10)

Not bad, I like how you did so well on your first, I know when I did my first it wasn't half as good. Also mine was with gimp and brushes, lol. Anyway nice job and keep up working on GFX. :)

I must say nice, although 5w33t p00p3r's blast one also looks very fine.
Secondly I think u should use brushes for ur next sigs, and to help u out www.deviantart.com has a large collection of 'em.
Also check out my sig I finished today, first sig ever. ( finally, finally..... I think you know the feeling )

Good luck with your future sigs.

Good for a first. Looks like you got all the basics pinned down there. All I can say is that you should keep on playing around in PhotoShop and develop your own style. Good luck on future graphics.

Yeeee. First thing. There's NO flow. No direction for the eyes to follow, and that render would make some MAGNIFICENT flow. The blending didn't work very well, but it's a good try for your first work. The colors are sort of off.. Samus needs darker colors, so that she can stand out, and look sorta, 3Dish. The text is horrible, which I noticed is a problem with most beginners, you have to make it flow with the sig, and flow is something you need serious work on. Once you clean up the background (That's just far too much brushing.) you could put it under her arm, italicize, and make it smaller, and more tech feel.

tl;dr Take it down a few notches.

I didn't use any brushes/brushing in the background.
