Need some major help for my summer goals

    Alright.

I've been skinny for about half my life. I recently found out its due to an advanced stage of Crohn's disease. Since i had major surgery i lost all my weight to the point I honestly looked like the victims from the holocaust in the photo's weighing in at 110 pounds fully hydrated at 6 feet tall.

Since then I've gained 25 - 30 pounds. Majority of the weight ive gained is from eating at the buffet at work and is generally working into my mid section due to the injury i had there. It's extremely important that i get my abs better then they've ever been for next years lacrosse season or else i WILL not be playing varsity.

The goal I'm going for is a low body fat look. Normal weight at about 170 pounds but i need killer abs. I mean killer so i don't reopen the cut in the muscle.

Now for the part i need help on. First off just to let you know money isn't an issue. If i cant afford the stuff from my part time job my parents will pick up anything that i need. I'm taking ON protein. The normal digestive stuff that you use after workouts. I also bought their creatine. I take a 500mg Green tea extract also every mourning. In one week i will be running 3 miles a day for the summer. I CAN NOT do free weights at the gym until after summer is done or there's a good chance i will open up my issue. What do you recommend that i due for a body workout wise? P90X? I need something intense that i can follow along to or else i find myself getting lazy and slacking .

And to help me get to my weight goal I need a healthy diet right? Well there is a catch. I cant eat most vegetables, bananas, or oranges. So how do i get those nutrients and such that i need in a balanced diet then? Are there better supplements then the one's i mentioned? I'm sorry if this is out of order or not well organized I have so many questions and iv'e seen 2 dietritions one in hospital during my month long recoup, and one fairly recently. But they both tell me basically the same thing i do when i research on this. Crohns says you cant eat hotdogs or popcorn or nuts, but i can eat all those fine. And they both tell me to stay away from these so i know that they don't know much about the actual thing. Im only 17 so my version is different from the version full adults get so i have a specialist. The sad thing is he's a small guy and didn't know what to tell me since he has spent his life figuring out how to tell if children have it or not and never played sports or lifted. Im so fucking confused and really need help. Thanks for reading.

People can live off of grass and leaves if they need to. But to build up you need more then just simple stuff all the time. Not to mention the place i work at is a pizza buffet so i got all the carbs i would ever need ready at my disposal.

You want to gain around 60 pounds but also want to have killer abs which is basically wanting to stay extremely cut.. well you're gonna have to set aside the "i need killer abs" and focus on the weight gain first.
Unfortunately you can't possibly do both at the same time since the diet for both is completely diverse.

Actually i weigh 141 now. just had a hospital visit a day ago. So it's just 30 pounds, not to mention turning the fat into muscle should put on a few pounds. in its self.

You can only lose fat and put on muscle, you can turn the fat into muscle like some people think (incase you're one of those people)

What's your body fat %? Depending on if its too high, do some cardio to shed that off and then move on to weight training which you cant do until after the summer like you said. To have killer abs, you need to have a low body fat and need to work your core muscle so they come out and trust me, abs are made in the kitchen. Eat healthy, you don't have to eat the vegetables you named, eat the ones you can. If you are trying to lose the fat, cut out the bad carbs, eat a lot of protein and have a calorie deficit. If you are trying to put on muscle, get your macros, protein/carb/fat intake.

Focus on the diet. Eat high protein foods and possibly protein bars/shakes.. You can follow that up with a good session of cardio and sets of exercises that build muscle (push-ups, crunches, pull-ups) there are hundreds of ways to add customization to your workout routine. Your priority should be on weight gain before the whole abs thing. If you don't put stress on those muscles they won't tear, so just be cautious with them :) Eat like a horse my friend!

Thanks for all the replies, I now realize the weight gain wont be a reasonable expectation for the summer. So now I'm more focused on the abs part.

What are some good core exercises?

    Should I have resting periods?

How much protein should i be consuming a day?

Thoughts on the use of creatine?

Just swim. Every day. If you can't swim, learn.

Honestly, it's the best core strengthening exercise you can possibly do, you will gain dense muscle from it. It's also good cardio for fat burning and cutting, etc. Once you have a decent core strength, check out some of the exercises in my sig. Be REALLY careful with them if you're worried about your scar tissue though. I strongly suggest building up a strong core first.

Protein in the shape of shakes etc, is a waste of money. Just have a healthy diet. A decent amount of fresh meat, chicken, pork and so on. Fish is really good too and normally cheaper than meat. Fresh and natural is ALWAYS better than synthesised mass produced crap, no matter how many false adverts you're bombarded with.

I don't know enough about your condition to suggest what to eat in place of veg, sorry. I guess just plenty of salads - soup maybe?
