    Protecting My IP Address

I am loking to start up my own service, using no bots, in which I go on and provide my services on another person's account. Through doing this, upon me logging off thier account and them logging back on, they have full access to viewing my IP address. If they are good, they can smiply use that information to hack everything I have. My question is, what are the precautions I need to take in order to prevent this from happening? Should I be using proxys? Doing something else?

    Thanks. :)

I would recommend a VPN if you want to hide your real IP when providing services to other people. There's a fair good amount of decently priced, good quality speed ones on the net. The only one I know is OverPlay, but I'm sure someone will recommend a better one.

Do you think my computer would be secure without one of those? Or is exposing my IP actually as dangerous as I am perceiving it to be?

Ah yes, I perceive that to be true to a point, although I also know that I can be DoS'd by someone using simply my IP address. I just want to make sure everything including the well being of my computer (lol) is secure before I go about this.

Be aware that you cannot be hacked only through an IP address. The only thing they could do is DDoS you, or just find out your geographical location. If you don't want that address public to them, your best bet is to rent a VPN.
