Looking for some lighting for my room

I'm rearranging my room and I'm looking for some LED strips or something along that idea to light up my room.

My only concern is I don't believe the kind listed above has a simple on/off switch and I don't know much about LED strips so I'm a little nervous buying a bunch and then getting stuck. Any ideas of what to get or how I can easily install this kind? Thanks in advance.

This is basically a Christmas light. I used to have these for my house. It is like other Christmas lights. You plug in and its off. Unplug and its off. You could get switches and put on it though.

Those are shorter but more flexible. But if you buy 2-3 sets I think it would be fine. Kinda tempting to buy but I have no need.

 

As long as it's purely for aesthetic purposes I'm sure it will turn out nicely if you put some time and effort into it. For general lighting I don't think it would be practical, but as they show it in the picture with the under desk lighting - looks very nice.

It would also be really easy to put a switch onto it, so it shouldn't really be a major concern for you.

 

The colors are something that you will have to consider a lot.
Sure some lights may look cool but they could have serious psychological effects on you.

Those are my two cents

 

Why don't you just get a normal light bulb?

 

So boring, plus I already got those for day time lighting.
