I've been in the business, and I've talked to 5+ LCS players who boost. It's fairly common.

 

His customer service skills are 0/10 lmao

It shouldn't come as a surprise there is no longevity in an e-sports career. League won't be around forever, and most don't have the personality skills to go into streaming full-time after their pro careers decline/retire. The money isn't even great. It's not like they will be able to transition to another game when they are older either. (due to declining reaction times, and decreased ability to adapt.) They don't even make that much money playing in an LCS split, and the sponsorship money is pretty laughable. Honestly, he was extremely stupid to even use his public alias when discussing business with the client.

 

Aww, XWX was one of my favorite players a few years ago on team LMQ. At least he's legit lol

Just because he duo'd with Rush dont assume his team did know ... TIP wouldnt have their players eloboosting knowing the shit they could get into if they're caught. 99% sure they were unaware.

 

Well they stated it involved the team manager but they never went into detail. I dont think they all knew. Maybe they thought xwx had a weird smurf or something lol.

 

XWX used his team manager's paypal to receive the money so they probably knew it, btw elo boosting in China is a normal thing and like 90% of pro players did that.

 

He got paid like 1.3K$ for one boost, correct?

Doubt it. He linked the owner's PayPal when he was asking for the money. Sounds like management was involved.

Adrian was the top booster for LoL Academy for 1-2 years.
