[Imposter Scam]

So I hit him up trying to buy some OSRS gold and he acts kinda of shady. Won't do multiple transactions, won't send me a PM, sends me links to his "vouch thread" and saying that 1b is nothing he does 10b+ daily and that he's busy with clients and all this other stuff. He finally decides to send me a PM on Sythe and it was blank but I didn't think much of it but then I saw a copy of our message screenshot he put up and it was fake AF.

The actual PM in my scythe inbox was empty... dunno what that's about.

Then I realized that he started deleting discord chats.. Here's a couple before he managed to delete all of them

you can clearly see that's a Fake account saying it's a lower case g

 

You can clearly see the guy who sent me a PM was you.

 

you can clearly see that someone dm'd me and asked for a dm and linked me that profile im just following what they asked...

 

@notmycube it looks like you have mixed messages between imposters and the real @Grant. Also that is an imposter Bert as Bert's discord is an uppercase B.

 

First of all, I added them through their pages. Copy and pasted. Definitely didn't get it wrong so even if it is a fake account, it's their fake account that they're using to get away with shit. Grant sent me a PM when I asked him on discord. He would've gotten away with it if he didn't post a fake screenshot. Either way, they're shady af and it's up to the mods/admins if they want to stop them from trying to scam more people.

 

Can you send me the UID of the bert and grant you spoke with please?

 

Could you also show me these pages you were linked from please

 

I've already deleted them off discord since both of them deleted all their messages.
But heres the 2 threads I got their info from.

I don't care how they spin it but "fake account" or not, it's their account and if sythe mods want to overlook it, that's on them and whoever they end up actually successfully scamming is on their hands too.

 

I've just went through every line of the front pages of both of their threads and their usernames are uppercase in both. The lowercase grant and bert you were talking to were not the discord accounts being advertised on Sythe.org.

 

What happened here seems to be a double imposter scam.

This is how the scam works:

• You arrange a trade on Discord with an impostor of a highly vouched trader
• Impostor creates a 2nd Discord account with your Discord name and contacts the real trader pretending to be you
• The real trader sends you a confirmation PM on sythe
• If the confirmation PM is poor, or you don't carefully read it, then you get scammed

I'm going to close this as there isn't evidence to tie this to either @Grant or @Bert. Please make sure you add people with the correct capitalization on Discord.
