Account Upgrading & Teamviewer

Hello, members of Sythe.org!


This happened to me a while back when I had no experience with trading; but, I was buying an account upgrade and the person and I were doing the actual upgrade via Teamviewer.

The person then invited me to remotely view their computer, which basically made it so that I was typing my password on their computer -- without knowing it until the connection instantly terminated.



Basically, I'm suggesting that some kind of 'informative' thread is created in the Account Upgrade Services section to inform members to only make an upgrade transaction via Teamviewer, and that the other person has to connect to your computer and have remote control -- instead of you connecting to them, typing your password in, and suddenly being hacked.


Does anyone else support?? I'd love to read everyone's feedback.

I don't think teamviewer should be used for any trade, for every successful trade using teamviewer, there are 10 scams that happen because of it. Just use an mm for upgrade trades

 

I love to use teamviewer to upgrade my customers account, compared to doing it on my own computer.

 

I agree, it shouldn't be used but it is used by a vast majority of members of Sythe.org. In my opinion, (since it's a common trade method) I think Teamviewer should be set out there and labeled as frequently used but can potentially be unsafe in any situation.

This could help not only cut down on the scams in the community, but members would be more educated to become more aware of it.

 

Same thing happened to me mate.

Fortunately the items on my account were left untouched, although the person did log onto it.

However I do not support this suggestion as it seems very useless.

These precautions should always be considered in the customers minds no matter what situation.

And as stated in previous posts, simply use a MM if you feel insecure through such a small trade.

 

Agreed. The only time I think tv is important is for recovery checks, and tbh I feel that recovery checks are useless anyway.

 

Teamviewer is need at some points, I don't know if this suggestion is going to happen because teamviewer is used a lot for upgrades, I don't use them but most people do.

 

last time i bought a pin,seller asked to use a team viewer,he keylogged me and stole my 15m in invo(had 300m in bank but i spam logged when he switchs world i goes in and changed pass and everything)team viewer should be banned tbh

 

The only choices the buyer has when he/she is buying an upgrade would be giving their own account info to the seller, or the seller could upgrade their accounts via Teamviewer.

 

I sell upgrades all the time and every time I request to apply the upgrade via teamviewer. If they don't have teamviewer, I ask if they can download it.

If they don't feel comfortable enough with teamviewer, I request them to screen record them applying the upgrade live.

And if they don't want any hassle they can just have me the their account info and have me apply it.

I do prefer the first option though just because there is no risk to me.

 

i remember when i bought an upgrade from you cindy you made me dowload teamviewer and i was like no wayyyy shes movin my mouse look shes typing on my pc no wayyyyy would realllllllyyyyy buy another upgrade anyday anytime

 

I support this. Everyone who's new to sythe and teamview might not know they can be disconnected. Hell a majority of you I bet didn't think about getting disconnected when you first started to use it. Now you might have thought they could have a keylogger running in the background but ... i seriously doubt you thought about being disconnected. The only reason why most of you think this way now is because you've been here a while and understand all the ways you can get scammed.

 

The only time I ever used teamviewer was with FireZ. Otherwise I possibly will never use it again after I figured out how it really works. It's just a high security risk. Noone should use it period unless you can really be sure they won't screw you over. If someone asks me to use it I just ignore them.

It doesn't have to be hated as it's really your choice whether you accept teamviewer or not. It can be useful at times. I remember I did see a guide somewhere on how to use it but can't find it.

 

teamviewer is just a scam, you should never let anyone access your computer. never use it.

 

Unless you know what you're doing (in which case you dont need a sticky), it's really easy to get scammed via TeamViewer. Sythe.org cannot put itself in a position where it is supporting a method that makes it easier to scam. Definitely no support.
