xbox 360 or hd pvr :D

i'm looking to buy 1 of those two, i already have a ps3 (no console war please)
and in the end i will buy the latter but for now i was wondering which one should i buy
my budget is $200 and i'm just wondering which one i should buy first, i enjoy making videos a lot so i was thinking about hd pvr
but i do want a 360 but i don't know too much about it
Does 360s still have the red ring of death *the new slim version*?
and do i have to buy a wireless adapter which is pretty overpriced in my opinion ($99) to play online games or does the new console come with it
and do i have to buy any more accessories with the 360?
    Thanks

I have both a xbox 360, and a hd pvr.
Bought my Xbox nearly two years ago, never had any problems whatsoever.

wireless adapter? You mean the way to connect to the internet? You can buy a 40m wired cable for less than £5. I've got that which goes from my bedroom to the router downstairs in the hall.

Personally, after what happened to Sony, I'd sell your ps3 and buy an Xbox 360. Kinect is far more advanced than move, and there's a wider variety of games for Xbox, + a lot more players for the games.

The new Xbox doesn't need a wireless router. It has one built in. Though I'd still get pvr. I have Xbox and since the decline of CoD MW2 (maturity of player etc.) I rarely touch it, and Ive never liked HALO. It's basically a glorified DVD player these days.

Well i kinda grew up with nintendo and playstation, i don't sell those kind of consoles
beside i have the money for a 360, i'm just not gonna get it first

and for the ebay thing, it sounds good and all but only problem is the fact all 360 used i see on it that has a good price like $100-120 never has anything with it like a controller or one of the accessories, just the 360 by itself and the controller is worth at least $30 brand new which i don't prefer to buy by itself

You need an xbox 360 to start recording game play with an HD-Pvr ;)

Sell your PS3. Xbox 360 is 10x better.

BMI has the best quality hands down vs a HDPVR. The only downside is you have to have an open PCIe slot.. but that's not a big deal for anyone who is serious about it. RAID setups help too since the bitrate on BMI is so much higher than that of the HDPVR. BMI is for professional quality videos. HDPVR is for people who want a quick setup but still have pretty good quality.

Also, OP, Xbox 360 has a better overall competitive experience.. sell your PS3 and buy both a 360 and a HDPVR (or BMI :D). You'll find that most if not all of the big YouTubers use the Xbox 360 version because all of the competitive gamers choose 360, not PS3.

thing is, i'm not the kind of person who makes videos to get out there
i'm the kind of person that makes videos for fun and i know a couple sort of well known youtube commentators out there that does the same
a couple of them has a ps3 as well
i will eventually get a 360, but i won't sell my ps3 but thanks for the suggestion about the bmi pro
i heard some good things about it but a lot of big youtubers that uses hd pvr looks very nice and for some reason, bmi pro looks compressed
i don't know if that's the actual footage or if the youtuber edited it to look that way or rendered it in that format

The people who put up quality tests on YouTube like 99% of the time have just got their card and have no idea what they're doing. People like IGN and shit use similar things to BMI to get the awesome professional level quality that they have. I assure you that the BMI has better quality than the HDPVR, it's all down to how you set it up though.

i have also seen people that used capture cards like easycap which is like $50
and they set it up and it almost looks like an hd pvr
so i understand the setting up part but still, hd pvr is still very good quality
another question i have is computer specs

so my graphics card is kinda old, it's rated at 3.3 and it's my lowest windows index base score
would that affect the quality at all when rendering the video after editing it?
or would it only affect how i view it on the computer screen and not the people that watch the video with a better capture card
hope you can understand this question
