Maybe you should apply on a newly started thread, since not many pro capers give away free capes. I suggest you go on a thread that has recently opened and gives capes for vouches.

 

You could just put I need a free firecape. But anyways, I could do, I have got 1 cape before, for myself, and I failed it 23 times before I succeeded once. Maybe not the best, but reliably bad.
