    I was wondering if anyone could explain how to use this payment method to buy/sell gold and why is it popular? Or even link me to somewhere which explains it?

    Also, can it be used outwith the USA?

    USA Only. and you can redeem it on paypal, its non-refundable means no chargebacks... it redeems for instant cash, although now you have to provide social security details.

    They can only be purchased in the US.

    For non US there is something similar called Ukash but it's not as popular and you will need a non US seller.
