Actually the trick is not there, you cannot do anything knowing a bank account number.
The trick is that THAT phone number ! it is most likely an over-priced number and calling it will just cost you a leg and an arm (perhaps more) that will go straight into his pocket.

In a word, shred that mail.

Definitely not real, the phone number will snatch all your money. Also it is impossible for them to get your details from them giving you their bank details.
