Just got a hedgehog

I’m in love, she’s very cute but loves to escape from her cage and hide in closets and pillows. Cost us almost as much as a dog though. Anyone else got “exotic” pets?

They're so friendly, I used to get them in my garden all the time, and they're really weird to hold.

 

Update: my hedgie escaped I’m beyond depressed right now

It got out of its cage somehow and we can’t find it. They are nocturnal though so hopefully it pops up somewhere tonight, we got food and water out so we’ll see!

Edit: we got a new cage that looked inescapable but apparently she’s a mastermind

 

Dang, hopefully she turns up soon. She should be inside the house though, right?

 

yes sir luckily all doors were locked, no gaps for her to have escaped outside. I will be beyond happy if she just walks up to me later

They like to hide under things that are pretty dark for when they sleep. So try under chairs, or between gabs, maybe under your fridge, etc

Yeah she's too smart for her own good. bought a new cage because the first cage had space for her to wriggle through the bars :S

Looks like the hiding spot will be under my fridge, washing machine, or in a gap under our bathroom sink (cant move any of the stuff, so we'll have to be patient!) Appreciate the help man

Thanks a lot! I know she’s in the house I just hope she’s smart enough to come out of hiding for food and water. Luckily she drank a lot of water and a full meal before her adventure last night.

I owned one named sonic when I was young, we’ve named this one Cyndaquil

HEDGIE HAS BEEN FOUND SAFE!! Found her roaming out of a hole near our dishwasher the size of a nickel. I’ll post more pictures later

Going to cost me about 300 total and have to wait a month still to get my hedgehog :O
