Hello im going to start by telling you a bit about myself and my experience within world of warcraft.

Im a 16 year-old who started playing WoW 3 years ago, Just before TBC was released and ever since then i have been raiding and getting to know alot about world of warcraft over these past few years, I played all through The burning crusade and all through wrath of the lich king and now im playing through catatclysm. When WOTLK came out i really got addicted to world of warcraft and thats when i started getting into raiding more then i did in TBC and enjoyed it alot.

Im making this thread for people who don't know alot about raiding and also don't know alot about othwer things in world of warcraft, If its to do with PvP'ing, What class to play, What roles to use, Zones within world of warcraft, Profesions etc.

Basically this thread is for anyone who plays world of warcraft or anyone who is thinking about playing world of warcraft to ask someone who i think knows alot about world of warcraft a question and i will try my best to answer the question in-depth enough to help the player.

To be fair , There isnt a best class, It is all based on opinion , Classes are all good in their own different ways and different people claim different classes to be the best, it all depends on what you want to do in world of warcraft as in tank/dps/heal etc..

 

ah ok, what i meant was what is the best role for doing raids, tank dps or healer?

 

Depends cause not cataclysm has came out tanking and heal require more skill.

Tanking - This requires quite a bit of skill and you have to be able to know your class well and know how to follow whats going on. Ive tanked myself and i find it by far the most fun because your constantly doing something but you have to look out on everyone else to make sure they arn't getting any threat off the monsters.

Dps - This is by far the easiest, All you have to do is know you class. Many of the classes have rotations that you have to follow and if you have a good talen specification you will be really good at this. As a dps all you have to do mainly is pay attention to what YOUR doing and whats going on around you (The tactics) and thats about it.

Healer - This does require alot of skill, You dont need to know too much about your class you just need to know what your healing moves do and how and when to use them, You need to pay attention alot more to your raid as a healer.


Also in my experience the most needed lately are healers and then its tanks and theres alot of dps so they arn't needed as much.

Mages do alot of dps and have an easy rotation to use. And are needed in raids quite alot because of their intellect buff.

So mages are the easiest class to do alot of dps with,

 

Ah very good, I was thinking of using a spell caster class, what do you think of the elemental spec of the shaman class for dps?

 

I think its an ok spec but for me its a little boring, its not a good class to level with and when it gets to raiding with it, It has the most boring rotation ever. But thats just my opinion. But on the plus side raiding as a shammy is good because no matter what spec there almost always needed

ah, im interested in starting a twink, which level twink is the best?

 

For me i personally hate twinks, But i think the easiest twink is at level 19 and as it goes up it gets harder and harder , And at level 19 if your going to make a twink its dont cost as much at 19 to get the gear etc.

Its not level 19 twinks i hate its just all twinks i hate, I dont see the point in it but thats cause im more of a level up via PvP and then raid when high enough But thats just me.

 

Most 19 twinkers these days have maxed out mains (thus BoA gear), and play 19 twinks because it is an environment where gear is not an issue

What are the best profs for a pvper and pver.

I have 450 eng on my mage, can't decide what else to get.

At 525 eng, do you get anything cool?

 

Id say get tailoring i always say to everyone if they have a mage they should have tailoring and enchanting but if youve already got a high engineering then yeh get tailoring because of the spellthread you can put on your items.

And no at 525 engineering all you get is a gnomish x scope which is to put on a gun or bow like for hunters etc...

 

To answer the "best class" I'd say any Ranged DPS. Just look at the top guilds in the world. They generally don't run with melee DPS just because they aren't worse, but the fight mechanics are more complicated for them.
