The Risk of gold Trading in WoW

Hello everyone! So I recently sold my RuneScape account for $70. I just got sick of the game (although I still think it is fun), to play WoW. Trading RuneScape gold was easy and cheap. However, I'm not sure if it's the same for WoW. I just wanted to know, how risky is it to trade gold for USD in WoW? I only plan on ordering 5k - 10k gold but I still don't know. Also on my account I have to games:

    - WoW1 - Hacked and banned for usage of third party programs.

    - WoW2 - my newer one which has no infractions or anything

Will this make it more risky to be caught? Like I said I'm only planning on purchasing a small amount but you can't be too careful! Please respond back with any helpful information :D

EDIT: If anyone knows any GOOD websites.. that actually speak english and don't need a phone verification, please tell me. I will be paying with Credit Card OR RSGP. ;)

You could buy from me :p I speak English XD.

And to be honest, I've purchased hundreds of thousands of gold on the same character and never been caught. It's really a lottery yype deal.

The risk of getting banned on wow for buying god is immensely slim, unless you plan on buying increments of 100k at a time. The most I bought at a time was 15k, and I was fine, Blizzard never really looks at those things.

The safest method that I would recommend it the auction house method. The person who is buying the gold puts an item in the AH for the amount of gold they are buying. The buyer then tells the gold seller, the character's name selling, and the item. This cannot be traced because you can easily pick an item they tends to be sold extremely overpriced (i.e. Tankard o' Terror, Crystal-forged Waraxe, Proto Drake Welp Vanity Pet, etc.)

Tyvm! I was kind of thinking the same thing. Like if someone traded me 10k, heck that person could be my best friend IRL. Thank you for the help :)

The AH method is essentially riskless, but I'm inpatient and use Face 2 Face methods. WoW gold buying has very little risk though as since Cata's release I've bought about 80k gold and no issues yet.

On the note of sites to purchase from I like Thsale(though I've heard of others having problems), mmosavor.com, wowgoldsavor.com, or my personal favorite Mogs.com, mogs is run by english guys from ohio. They have decent prices and actually make sense. Of course you can always buy right here on sythe from the right vendor.

EDIT: Though I forgot to include all of these sites as most do require phone verification if you want to avoid that.

So in the end you might as well stick with Sythe markets, though be careful and only buy from trusted members.

The Risk of gold Trading in WoW

I was just talking to a GM on saturday about buying WoW gold and was supriesed to find out how much they really knew about it, they have picked up on AH and have things scanning when players put items on that just seem way over priced compared to what it was. They know about the guild withdrawls and the face to face. They know every way possible I have seen to trade sold gold.. its just about getting caught, since there are so many people and so much traded its hard to keep track of it all. Its all luck.

But most of the people from the sites message you in game now, iv bought roughly 400-500k from sites, highest amount being 80k.
that part was fine, I got away with it, but months after im getting messages ingame saying hey do you remember me! I sold gold to you, fuck that..

I wouldn't do the AH thing. For example if something on the AH is gray/white or even epic item going for 40k+ or whatever will be screaming to the whole realm you're trading gold. Face to face trading is best. Besides WoW isn't anal about gold trading like RuneScape is. I doubt they care.

I bought 5k gold in BC and 10k gold right when I hit 80 ( this is right when WOTLK came out).

Didn't get caught but money is really simple to get now.

Yeah- and there isnt the demand for it, crafting epics are easy to farm and professions are easy to level these days

    guys4game.com (or guy4games.com) can't remember.

Either way, they're cheap, the people ACTUALLY understand and can communicate you, and the price is quite decent. I've bought from then 5 times now in small ammounts of like 5-10k each and I've always been satisfied.

As for the actual forum question, it depends on what you were banned for. If you were banned for botting, you'll be reluctantly banned for botting, and nothing else will increase in chance.

Professions, cold weather flying + epic flying, enchants and gems. Doing quests in Northrend won't get you the gold for that.

Here are a few steps to take to safely buy gold:
    1. NEVER have a gold buying webpage open while WoW is open
    2. NEVER use the same payment method for your subscription to buy gold (if blizzard somehow gets records of this they close all accounts associated with that payment method, i.e. all accounts linked to your credit card account will be banned)
    3. Use face to face trades - they are the safest way - go to the auction house and buy a somewhat scarce normal quality item such as [Purple Silk Shirt] and put it up in trade when you are receiving your gold.

Yeah, the safest way would be the AH method mentioned above.
As for who to buy it from, 'Epicmmoservice' here @ sythe are safe, i've used them for powerleveling too in the past.

Contact them via there msn: [email protected] or their website - www.epicpowerleveling.com hope it helps :)
